He is the main character in the film The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. He is a mischievous, rebellious, and loner American teenager with a natural talent for driving. However, he also often acts recklessly or foolishly in the context of youthful delinquency.

Well, yesterday, Wednesday, February 25, 2026, a young man with the initials HM (25) tried to put Sean Boswell’s signature style into practice. Driving a black Toyota Calya, HM was caught by police in the afternoon driving recklessly on Jalan Gunung Sahari, Central Jakarta. The officer then asked him to pull over, but was ignored. Finally, HM’s black Calya was followed until it turned onto Jalan Gunung Sahari IV.

But like a boy racer like Sean Boswell, instead of slowing down, HM accelerated, driving the car even more recklessly down the road.

“There, on that small road, the patrol car’s dashcam caught the high speed. From there, he turned left toward Bungur. The fatal incident occurred when he entered Gunung Sahari V because it’s a one-way road from Pasar Baru to Bungur. Entering there, many vehicles were nearly killed because there were many motorcycles and they were still speeding,” explained Kombes Pol Komarudin, Director of Traffic for the Polda Metro Jaya, on Thursday, February 26, 2026.

Upon reaching the Pasar Baru intersection, Kombes Pol Komarudin continued, HM’s car entered Jalan Budi Utomo going against the flow of traffic in the right lane. The officers then stopped at the intersection and turned around midway, returning to the intersection.

“The left turn was guarded by officers. He was nearly hit by one of our officers. Then he turned towards Ancol and was told to stop, but he still wouldn’t,” Kombes Pol Komarudin continued his story.

HM, driving a black Calya, continued towards Ancol, still being pursued by officers. But not far from there, he got stuck in traffic and tried to go against the traffic flow again, crashing into several vehicles.

“The officers continued to follow him. When he reached Ancol at the Pintu Besi traffic light, and with the light red, and a queue and obstructions, he tried to turn around and head towards Pasar Baru on the same route, instead of changing lanes. He ended up crashing into several vehicles. The driver admitted that he was from Karawang and was going for a walk to Ancol,” Kombes Pol Komarudin added.

HM’s Toyota Calya only came to a complete stop on Jalan Dr. Sutomo, near the Pasar Baru busway stop in Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, at around 5:00 PM. HM, now helpless, was overpowered by the mob until police entered the car to secure him and take him to the Central Jakarta Metro Polres Department for legal proceedings.

Meanwhile, the black Calya driven by HM had a cracked windshield. The front bumper was also damaged from crashing into several vehicles. The right side of the vehicle also suffered scratches and a shattered rear window. One motorcyclist was injured, and his motorcycle sustained damage to the front and right side. (Bembo)
