Beware, Illegal Travel Buses Caught Through Cianjur Will Be Snatched by the Cianjur Polres Traffic Unit

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Cianjur Polres Traffic Unit has received information about a sweep conducted by several minibus drivers against vehicles suspected of being illegal travel buses in the Sindangbarang area a few days ago. However, as of Wednesday, March 11, 2026, no vehicles have been seized in connection with the alleged activity.

The Head of the Cianjur Polres Traffic Unit, AKP Aang Andi Suhandi, stated in a statement, that his unit is ready to take firm action against illegal passenger transport or illegal travel buses operating without official permits. However, as of Thursday, March 12, 2026, no action has been taken.

“To date, the Cianjur Polres Traffic Unit has not yet taken action or seized any vehicles deemed illegal travel buses. However, we received information from the Sindangbarang Polsek that a few days ago, there was a sweep conducted by minibus drivers against vehicles deemed illegal travel buses,” AKP Aang told the media.

He continued, saying that the Cianjur Polres Traffic Unit has coordinated with Agus, the Chairman of the Indonesian Elf Mobil Drivers Community (KDEMI), and has also installed banners prohibiting and warning against illegal travel operations at several locations, particularly along the southern route of Cianjur.

“We have installed banners prohibiting and warning at almost every police station, including several locations on the southern route. This is our effort to suppress illegal travel activities in the area,” he said.

“We have also held meetings with the Head of Operations, the Head of Intelligence, and the association’s chairman. This activity is prohibited. If it persists, the Traffic Unit will take action within our authority, including ticketing and securing vehicles. Vehicles found to be operating illegally will be impounded in accordance with Article 308 of Law Number 22 of 2009,” he added.

The phenomenon of illegal travel, which frequently occurs every year, AKP Aang continued, will also be continuously monitored through cross-stakeholder coordination. If any violations are found in the Cianjur area, they are guaranteed to be 100% enforced in accordance with Article 308 of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Traffic and Road Transportation. (Bembo)
