Kapolres Metro of the West Jakarta, Kombes Pol Twedi Aditya Bennyahdi, directly inspecting church security to ensure the smooth running of services for the Triduum celebrations: Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday (Easter Vigil).

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The West Jakarta Metro Polres have ensured that the Easter Vigil services in their jurisdiction will proceed safely, orderly, and solemnly. A total of 147 personnel have been deployed to secure 33 churches so that Christian worshippers can worship safely and comfortably.

Security measures were implemented comprehensively by police stations within the West Jakarta Metro Polres jurisdiction, including Tamansari, Tambora, Grogol Petamburan, Kalideres, Cengkareng, Kembangan, Kebon Jeruk, and Palmerah Police stations. A total of 18.570 congregants were recorded as attending the Easter services at various churches in West Jakarta.

Kapolres Metro of the West Jakarta, Kombes Pol Twedi Aditya Bennyahdi stated in a statement, that each church received a security system tailored to the number of congregants and the level of vulnerability.

“Each church receives security adjusted to the number of congregants and the level of vulnerability to ensure the smooth running of the entire service,” said Kapolres Kombes Pol Twedi, Thursday, April 2, 2026.

He emphasized, that the presence of police personnel for this service is a form of humanitarian service to maintain the security, order, and comfort of the congregation during the service. Officers also assisted in regulating the flow of congregants and monitored the area around the church to ensure it remained conducive.

As a precautionary measure before the service, the Brimob (Mobile Brigade) Team from the Polda Metro Jaya also conducted sterilization at several churches in West Jakarta. The West Jakarta Metropolitan Polres also appealed to the public to maintain order and increase vigilance. If they encounter any suspicious activity, they should immediately contact the police service 110 or officers in the field for assistance. (Bembo)
