progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Telematics expert and former Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Kanjeng Raden Mas Tumenggung Roy Suryo Notodiprojo also known as Roy Suryo, has been banned from traveling by the Polda Metro Jaya, along with seven other suspects in the alleged fake diploma case involving former President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Roy Suryo and his cronies are also required to report to the police.

This ban is imposed due to their status as suspects and also to prevent them from fleeing the country. This was conveyed by the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto, to the media on Thursday, (20/11) yesterday.

“Yes, that’s right, because they are suspects. They are banned from traveling abroad, not under city arrest. And they are required to report to the police once a week,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi.

He also explained, that because their status is not under city arrest, Roy Suryo and the seven other suspects can still travel outside the city for any reason. However, they must still fulfill their mandatory self-reporting obligations.

“If you’re just traveling outside the city, whatever the reason, that’s fine. You can even go on holiday to Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, or Semarang. As long as you report yourself once a week,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi.

As a reminder, Roy Suryo and the seven other suspects were not detained after being questioned as suspects in the alleged fake diploma case of the seventh President Jokowi on Thursday, (13/11). They were not detained because they presented witnesses and experts to testify.

Even so, the Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri, remains confident in their suspect status.

“We have sufficient evidence and a strong legal basis to name them as suspects. No more excuses,” Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’ asserted.

He stated, that the eight suspects have been legally and convincingly proven to have committed defamation, slander, and manipulated electronic data, as reported by Engineer Jokowi.

“The eight suspects who have been banned and are required to report themselves weekly are divided into two clusters. The first cluster is ES, KTR, MRF, RE, and DHL. The second cluster is RS, RHS, and TT. That’s it,” explained Kapolda Kang Asep “Sniper” again. (Bembo)
