Affirming Commitment to Transparency, the Polri Submit Files on Child Violence Case in Tual to the Prosecutor’s Office

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polri Public Relations Division has provided the latest developments regarding the law enforcement process in the child violence case that occurred in Tual, Maluku. This was conveyed directly by the Head of the Polri Public Relations Division, Irjen Pol Johnny Eddizon Isir, during a doorstop held at the Polri Public Relations Division on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

In his statement, the Head of Public Relations Division stated, that the Polri is committed to carrying out the law enforcement process, both the code of ethics and criminal investigations, quickly, accurately, professionally, and accountably against the individual identified as Bripda Mesias Viktor Siahaya or MS.

“We, from the Polri Public Relations Division, are providing the latest information regarding the law enforcement process, both the code of ethics and the investigation process, regarding the child violence case that occurred in Tual. This demonstrates the Polri’s transparency and accountability to the public,” said Irjen Pol Johnny.

He also expressed his appreciation to the media and the public for their continued objective monitoring of this process. He also expressed his deepest condolences for the incident that befell the victim, Ananda A.T.

“We express our deepest condolences for the incident that befell Ananda A.T., and also express our empathy to Ananda N.K., the victim’s older brother, and to his parents and extended family. This incident is a serious concern for the Kapolri,” he said.

He also stated, that the Polda of the Maluku, through the Kapolres Tual and the Polda of the Maluku Mobile Brigade Unit, have taken various humanitarian measures, including providing assistance to the victim’s family and providing optimal medical care for Ananda N.K.

Regarding the ethics process, the Head of the Public Relations Division confirmed that Bripda Mesias Viktor Siahaya (MS) has been given a strict sanction in the form of a dishonorable discharge (PTDH), aka dismissal from the Polri.

“The code of ethics process has been implemented, and the individual with the initials MS has been given a dishonorable discharge sanction. This demonstrates the National Police’s commitment to firmly enforcing internal regulations,” he emphasized.

Regarding the criminal proceedings following his dismissal, based on Police Report Number: LP/B/32/II/2026/SPKT/Tual Polres/Polda of the Maluku dated February 19, 2026, the case file has been declared complete (P21), and the first stage was submitted to the Tual District Attorney’s Office on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

The articles MS is suspected of violating are Article 76C in conjunction with Article 80 paragraph (3) of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection and/or Article 46 paragraph (3) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years imprisonment and a maximum fine of Rp3 billion.

“Currently, the case file is being reviewed by the Public Prosecutor. It is hoped that the formal and material requirements can be met soon so that the process of handing over the suspect and evidence can be carried out and the case can be promptly submitted to trial,” said the Head of Public Relations.

More specifically, Irjen Pol Johnny Eddizon Isir also emphasized the Kapolri’s commitment that the Polri will not hesitate to take firm action, both ethical and criminal, against any personnel proven to have committed violations.

“The Polri will not hesitate to take firm action against any personnel proven to have committed violations or irregularities in the performance of their duties. This demonstrates the Polri’s commitment to maintaining public trust,” he emphasized.

He also urged the public to continue monitoring this criminal process objectively and to provide constructive criticism and input for the future improvement of the institution.
