progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polda Metro Jaya continues to move quickly to investigate the acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus. Fifteen witnesses have been questioned to identify the perpetrators and uncover the motive behind the incident.

The Director of Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimum) at the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Iman Imannudin, stated in a statement at the Polda Metro Jaya Headquarters, that the two perpetrators who carried out the acid attack on Andrie are identified as BHC and MAK. This identification was obtained through analysis using the Polri’s One Data system.

“We can now inform you that the two perpetrators, based on the Polri’s One Data analysis, have the initials BHC and MAK,” he explained on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

However, the Polri suspect that more than four perpetrators were involved in the attack, with the other four being active members of the Military Police Center
(Puspom TNI).

“We currently suspect and can inform you that the two individuals we previously identified from the One Data analysis are BHC and MAK. However, based on our investigation, we cannot rule out the possibility that there may be more than four perpetrators,” said Kombes Pol Iman.

Photos of the two perpetrators, identified as BHC and MAK, have also been released to the public by investigators from the Polda Metro Jaya’s Criminal Investigation Directorate. However, scientific crime investigation evidence analysis is ongoing to thoroughly investigate this case.

“We are also analyzing other scientific evidence to support the process of solving this case,” said Kombes Pol Iman.

To recall, the Deputy Coordinator of KontraS, Andrie Yunus, was the victim of an acid attack allegedly carried out by two perpetrators in Central Jakarta on Thursday evening, March 12, 2026. The incident occurred while Andrie was on his way home after attending a podcast event at the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation (YLBHI) office. (Bembo)
