Argo Bromo Anggrek Crashes into Commuter Line Train in East Bekasi, Temporary Deaths at 15 Women

A Commuter Line train carriage was destroyed after being hit by a long-distance train, the Argo Bromo Anggrek, on track 1 at East Bekasi Station.
progresifjaya.co.id, BEKASI – A tragic incident occurred in Bekasi on Monday evening, April 27, 2026. The Argo Bromo Anggrek long-distance train, traveling on the same track, collided directly with the rear of a Commuter Line train that was stopped on track 1 heading eastward toward Cikarang at East Bekasi Station.
As of 8:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB) on Tuesday morning, April 28, 2026, the death toll from the incident was 15. All 76 survivors survived.
“Updated data on the number of victims of the KRL accident as of 8:00 a.m. WIB (Western Indonesian Time) shows the number of victims is 91. The breakdown is 76 survivors and 15 fatalities,” explained the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto in a statement to the media on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
Of the 15 victims, Kombes Pol Bhudi continued, 10 were evacuated to the Kramat Jati Polri Hospital. However, their identities are still unknown.
He also stated, that all the bodies received were female. The identification process for the bodies is currently underway.

Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri, also went to the accident site last night. He monitored the evacuation of passengers trapped by the collision between the Argo Bromo Anggrek train and the KRL Commuter Line, and also wanted to ensure that the victims were treated promptly.
After conducting an overnight inspection, the Kapolda stated, that several passengers were still trapped inside the train as of 11:27 PM WIB.
“Earlier, we saw maybe six to seven people. Hopefully, we can evacuate them soon,” he said at the scene.
He also confirmed, that the carriage affected by the accident was a women-only carriage. He stated, that the main focus of joint officers was currently evacuating the victims.
