Activities took place at several locations, including the National Monument (Monas), the House of Representatives (DPR/MPR) Building, and the Jakarta Provincial Manpower Office.
The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto expressed his appreciation to the workers who expressed their aspirations peacefully and responsibly.
“Alhamdulillah, the May Day activities proceeded safely, orderly, and under control. We appreciate the workers who conveyed their aspirations effectively,” he said during a press conference at the Polda Metro Jaya on Friday evening, May 1, 2026.

He also stated, that representatives of the labor protesters had been received by the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives and his team to convey their demands directly. The hearing proceeded safely and orderly. However, the Polda Metro Jaya identified indications of a specific group attempting to infiltrate the peaceful demonstration.
“The Polda Metro Jaya Law Enforcement Task Force has found indications of an attempt by a specific group to disrupt the peaceful expression of opinion,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi.
He emphasized, that the suspected perpetrators, who are currently being investigated, are not part of the labor movement peacefully expressing their aspirations, but rather a group suspected of exploiting the May Day momentum to disrupt public order.
“The Polda Metro Jaya will continue to be present and carry out their duties professionally, proportionally, and accountably as guardians of life, builders of civilization, and champions of humanity,” he asserted.
Meanwhile, the Director of Criminal Investigation at the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Iman Imanuddin stated in a statement, that the police had already taken early detection and preventative measures to anticipate disturbances to public order and security.

During this effort, several items suspected of being used to incite unrest were seized, including empty bottles, rags, fuel, concrete nails, slingshots, marbles, sharp weapons, communication devices, cash, and activity plan documents.
According to Kombes Pol Iman, the group allegedly planned to infiltrate the protesters, incite unrest, incite conflict between labor groups, damage public facilities, and attack officers.
Currently, several people are still being questioned. They are mostly aged 20 to 35, and many are from outside Jakarta.
“After completing their statements, they will immediately return to their homes. We are also contacting their families to ensure their safety,” he emphasized.
