The perpetrator of the stabbing, identified as RS, was successfully apprehended by the Polda Metro Jaya’s Jatanras Sub-Directorate at his hideout in the Jasinga area, Bogor Regency, West Java.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The perpetrator of the slashing incident, identified only as RS, which resulted in the death of a bakery employee identified as A in Pedongkelan, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, was arrested by the Sub-Directorate of Violent Crimes (Jatanras) of Polda Metro Jaya

 in the Jasinga area, Bogor Regency, West Java. The perpetrator attempted to hide from police pursuit in his hiding place.

This explanation was delivered directly by the Head of the Sub-Directorate of Jatanras Criminal Investigations Directorate of the Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Abdul Rahim.

“Yes, the suspect, identified as RS, was arrested in the Jasinga area, Bogor,” AKBP Rohim told reporters on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

The stabbing incident, AKBP Rohim explained, occurred on Monday afternoon, May 4, 2026. The incident was sparked by a dispute on the highway when the perpetrator’s motorcycle nearly collided with the victim’s motorcycle.

 “It was due to a verbal argument. The perpetrator became emotional because when his motorcycle nearly hit the victim’s motorcycle, the victim uttered harsh words. The perpetrator immediately slashed the victim’s left chest with a machete,” explained AKBP Rohim.

The victim died instantly after being struck by the machete in the left chest. After the victim fell to the ground, the perpetrator immediately fled.

The Polda Metro Jaya’s Jatanras Team, which received the report, immediately launched an investigation and pursued the perpetrator to the Jasinga area, Bogor Regency. They were eventually apprehended.

A machete, the Honda Mio motorcycle used by the perpetrator, the clothing worn during the incident, a helmet, and CCTV footage from the scene were also confiscated from the perpetrator.
