progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – All criminal investigation units (Reskrim) throughout Indonesia have been instructed to create a sense of security and provide justice within the framework of law enforcement for the community.
This directive was issued directly by the Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo, before the participants of the 2026 Criminal Investigation Unit Technical Working Meeting (Rakernis) at the Bareskrim Polri Hall, South Jakarta, on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
“This demonstrates our commitment to working together to enforce the law, which is a special concern of the government. It is also to provide and present a real sense of security and justice for the community,” emphasized Kapolri Listyo Sigit.
This Rakernis, he continued, is also part of efforts to improve professionalism and strengthen the quality and capabilities of human resources, particularly in the criminal investigation unit.
Criminal investigation units are also asked to increase collaboration and synergy among law enforcement agencies.
According to him, this is mandatory to ensure optimal law enforcement and align with all of President Prabowo Subianto’s policies.
“Law enforcement must be optimal to address the government’s work plan programs. Moreover, we are also facing a global situation that will undoubtedly impact the domestic situation. This will certainly create new legal loopholes that we must collectively anticipate,” he explained.
And if strong professionalism and synergy can be achieved, the Kapolri continued, it will ensure firm and thorough law enforcement against perpetrators of crimes that endanger the state and society.
“And of course, how we continue to improve services to the public, especially vulnerable groups,” the Kapolri emphasized again.
The Kapolri also stated, that the challenges facing the criminal investigation department are increasingly challenging. Furthermore, transnational crimes continue to evolve, employing new methods to find loopholes.
Regarding the new Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP) and Criminal Code (KUHP) as the legal basis for their duties, Kapolri Listyo Sigit stated, that adjustments are needed across all levels of law enforcement to carry out their duties.
“Of course, we all hope to collaborate with all law enforcement officers (APH) to provide new hope regarding the new paradigm of the Criminal Code (KUHP) and the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP),” said Kapolri Listyo Sigit.
“Of course, it also provides ample space for restorative justice at all levels, not just attributive justice. And all of this must be understood by all members. We must also demonstrate how we strengthen public literacy,” he concluded.
