The Sat Brimob of the Polda Metro Jaya and the Polres Metro of East Jakarta 3P Unit have seized seven motorcycles suspected of being used for illegal racing.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA — A joint patrol by the Mobile Brigade Corps B Pelopor of the Mobile Brigade Corps (Sat Brimob) of the Polda Metro Jaya and the Precision Pioneer Patrol Team (3P) of the Polres Metro of East Jakarta seized seven motorcycles suspected of being used for illegal racing in East Jakarta early Saturday morning, May 9, 2026.

The vehicles were seized while personnel were conducting routine patrols to anticipate disturbances to public order and security during peak hours.

The incident occurred on Jalan Laut Samudra. While passing by, officers encountered a group of youths in a convoy on motorcycles. After inspection, several vehicles were found to be using non-standard exhausts and others without license plates.

The seven motorcycles were then taken to the Polres Metro of East Jakarta for further inspection. This measure was taken as a preventative measure to prevent illegal racing and public order disturbances in the area.

 “We are conducting patrols to prevent disturbances to public order and security, including illegal racing, which can endanger both individuals and other road users,” said the Head of the Mobile Brigade Unit (Sat Brimob) of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Henik Maryanto, on Saturday, May 9, 2026.

He explained, that illegal racing not only disrupts public safety but also has the potential to cause traffic accidents and spark friction between youth groups.

“We urge the public, especially parents, to monitor their children’s activities, especially at night. If you encounter any suspicious activity or potential disturbances to public order and security, report it immediately through 110,” he emphasized.
