A motorcycle thief in Cibitung, Bekasi Regency, was apprehended by the D Pioneer Battalion of the Mobile Brigade (Brimob) Unit of the Polda Metro Jaya.
progresifjaya.co.id, BEKASI – Personnel from the D Pioneer Battalion of the Polda Metro Jaya Mobile Brigade (Brimob) Unit arrested a motorcycle thief (curanmor) in the Cibitung area, Bekasi Regency. The thief was caught while officers were conducting a night patrol in the area.
Initially, the patrol was conducting a mobile patrol in the Deltamas area, Orange County, and the Meikarta Apartments area, South Cikarang, early Friday, May 8, 2026. A report of a motorcycle theft came in, and the patrol immediately went to the location to apprehend the thief.
“Patrols are currently underway in the West Cikarang area and the Lemah Abang Pantura highway to anticipate potential public order and security disturbances during the peak hours of night and dawn. During the patrol, the team received a report of a motorcycle theft in the Kertamukti area, Cibitung District. The team immediately moved quickly to the location and secured the perpetrator and evidence,” explained Commander of the Brimob Unit of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Henik Maryanto, in a statement on Saturday, May 9, 2026.
He said, the presence of Brimob personnel in the field not only maintains security but also ensures that every public report can be promptly followed up. The arrested motorcycle thief has now been handed over to the Polsek of West Cikarang for further legal proceedings.
“In addition to anticipating motorcycle theft, early morning patrols are also focused on preventing youth brawls, illegal racing, and other security disturbances that could potentially disturb residents and road users,” said Kombes Pol Henik.
As the patrol concluded in the early morning, the situation in Bekasi Regency remained safe and conducive. However, Kombes Pol Henik urged the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any crime or suspicious activity in their neighborhoods to the police.
