Having Questioned the Kapusdal Ops, the Polda Metro Now Examining the Early Warning System and Voice Logger

Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto.
progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polda Metro Jaya have questioned the Head of the Operations Control Center (Kapusdal Ops) of KAI Daop 1 Jakarta regarding the collision of the Argo Bromo Anggrek long-distance train with the Commuter Line train at East Bekasi Station. One of the areas being examined is the early warning system and voice logger.
The early warning system is a data-capturing sensor designed to prevent/warn people before danger occurs. A voice logger is a device that captures voice signals to record/document communications that have already occurred or are currently occurring.
“We have already conveyed that we are questioning the Head of Operational Area 1 (Daop 1) regarding railway operations that day, from the beginning of the incident to the collision between the electric train and the online taxi,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto to reporters at the Jakarta Metro Police Headquarters on Friday, May 8, 2026.
“After that, an electric train was queuing due to an accident, which was then queuing by the Argo Bromo Anggrek train,” he added.
During the investigation, Kombes Pol Bhudi continued, investigators are also still examining the early warning system, voice loggers, and information relayed by the tower supervisor to the Argo Bromo train. They are also examining whether or not there was any information regarding the collision in front of the train.
“Well, this is still being investigated to determine whether it was related to the early warning system, the voice logger, or whether the information provided by the tower supervisor to the Argo Bromo train was received. If there was a train in front that had an accident and stopped, there were two trains, one had an accident and the other had stopped. This is still being investigated,” explained Kombes Pol Bhudi.
Investigators are also still examining the train traffic controller regarding the green signal for the Argo Bromo Anggrek train.
“Similarly, regarding the train traffic controller, witness Mr. SM, this is also still being investigated regarding the green signal. The witness gave the green signal to Argo Bromo Anggrek Train Number 4B, which was passing through the Tambun area. This is also still being investigated by the Forensic Laboratory Center, investigators, and the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT),” he explained.
He also explained that, based on information from the Green SM taxi company, taxis are required to go to the depot for maintenance every 15.000 kilometers. However, the taxi involved in the incident had not yet undergone maintenance after 24.000 kilometers.
“We also conveyed that, regarding information from the depot’s operational manager, this taxi should have entered the depot for maintenance every 15.000 kilometers. However, maintenance has not been carried out up to 24.000 kilometers,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi.
Regarding this issue, he continued, investigators are still investigating whether the incident where the electric car stalled at the railroad crossing was a result of the lack of maintenance.
“Well, we are still investigating this,” he emphasized.
