progresifjaya.co.id, CIANJUR – The Polres of Cianjur Traffic Unit, Polda of West Java, has deployed 56 personnel to several vulnerable points to manage smooth traffic flow on the Puncak-Cianjur route during the Ascension Day long holiday. This includes a traffic management team.
In a statement, the Head of the Polres of Cianjur Traffic Unit, AKP Aang Andi Suhandi stated, that his team is on full alert, deploying personnel and inspecting facilities and infrastructure to anticipate increased traffic volume during the Ascension Day long holiday, which could potentially cause queues.
The traffic management team, which can quickly respond to long queues, has also been deployed at several vulnerable points, such as the Hanjawar intersection, the Cibodas intersection, Cipanas Market, and Jalan Raya Pacet. A traffic engineering scheme has also been prepared.
“We have deployed dozens of personnel at several points prone to traffic congestion, especially in the Puncak and Cipanas areas. These personnel will implement various measures, including a one-way system when long queues of vehicles occur,” said AKP Aang on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
He also stated, that the personnel on standby will direct drivers to alternative routes if the queues extend beyond five kilometers and cause traffic to stall. Several traffic engineering schemes will also be implemented to ease the queues, including a one-way system.
As of Thursday evening, the volume of vehicles passing along Cianjur’s main roads had increased. However, everything was still operating normally in both directions, with no queues.
“The volume of vehicles has indeed increased, but it’s normal with no queues in either direction, including along the Cianjur-Bandung and Cianjur-Sukabumi routes,” said AKP Aang.
Furthermore, AKP Aang continued, the Polres of Cianjur Traffic Unit also urged the public, especially motorists, to continue to comply with traffic regulations and signs installed along Cianjur’s main roads. Always follow the directions or instructions of officers in the field and refrain from overtaking when queues form.
Motorists are also asked to increase their preparedness and vigilance when navigating disaster-prone routes, from Puncak to the southern route of Cianjur. Extreme weather is still affecting most areas of Cianjur.
The Polres of Cianjur Traffic Unit continues to coordinate with the Regency Government, the Provincial Government, and ministries to anticipate and respond quickly to any disasters during the long holiday weekend. Heavy equipment has also been deployed at several points in the north and south of Cianjur.
