Sub-Directorate 3 of the Polda Metro Ditresnarkoba Arrests 4 Chinese Nationals and 1 Indonesian National in Penjaringan, Seizing 37 Etomidate-Filled Cartridges

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Four Chinese nationals and one Indonesian national were arrested by Sub-Directorate 3 of the Polda Metro Jaya Narcotics Directorate (Ditresnarkoba) in two arrests at an apartment in Penjaringan, North Jakarta. The arrests were related to a drug case, with 37 vape cartridges containing etomidate, a Schedule II narcotic, seized as evidence.
The four foreign nationals arrested were identified as GY (40), LZ (37), LZ (40), and YJ (43). The Indonesian national was identified as A (47).
The arrests stemmed from a report of drug trafficking in the Penjaringan area, North Jakarta, on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
“After conducting an investigation and observing the location, police found two men acting suspiciously in the apartment parking area,” said Head of Unit 4, Sub-Directorate 3, Ditresnarkoba of the Polda Metro Jaya AKP Rumangga, in a statement on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
“Both were then detained and searched. They found 14 vape cartridges containing the Class II narcotic etomidate and two mobile phones,” he added.
Police then arrested two other Chinese nationals on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in Penjaringan, North Jakarta. The search resulted in the discovery of 21 packages of etomidate cartridges packaged in yellow plastic bags and four mobile phones.
“Based on the investigation, the two suspected perpetrators were known to live at the Tokyo Riverside Lemo Apartments in Tangerang Regency. Police then conducted a search of the apartment, which led to the discovery of two additional packages of etomidate cartridges and a man with the initials YJ (43),” he explained.
In total, from the five suspected perpetrators arrested, police confiscated 37 vape cartridges containing the Class II narcotic etomidate and six mobile phones.
“Crimes like this are transnational crimes that we must collectively address. Therefore, anyone with information regarding crimes related to etomidate should report them to us so we can follow up,” AKP Rumangga emphasized.
