Isaiah Thomas sits down with Boston Celtics owner Bill Chisholm.
progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Boston Celtics have begun making changes after being eliminated in the first round by the Philadelphia 76ers nearly two weeks ago. On Thursday, May 14, 2026, they made a small move that may please some fans.
According to Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe, the Boston Celtics have signed former point guard Isaiah Thomas as a professional and college scout.
Isaiah Thomas spent 12 seasons in the NBA, including three with the Boston Celtics from 2014 to 2017. During his time with the Celtics, Isaiah Thomas enjoyed the best years of his career. He played in 179 games, averaging 24.7 points per game. His outstanding performance earned him a two-time All-Star selection, and he played a key role in leading the Boston Celtics to the Eastern Conference finals in the 2016-17 season.
The Boston Celtics traded Isaiah Thomas to the Cleveland Cavaliers after the 2016-17 season in a deal centered around Cleveland Cavaliers star Kyrie Irving. Unfortunately, Thomas’ career never regained its former momentum after that.
After being traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Los Angeles Lakers in the winter of 2018, Thomas went on to play for eight different teams before retiring in 2024.
And now he’s ready to help the Boston Celtics identify players who can contribute to their success, just as he did during his playing days.
