Evidence of a package of methamphetamine and a bong recovered by Brimob personnel from two suspicious youths during patrol.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) of the Polda Metro Jaya conducted a Planned Routine Activities (KRYD) patrol in several areas in West Jakarta. During this patrol, two youths were arrested for being caught red-handed in possession of methamphetamine or sabu.

The patrol took place in the early hours of Thursday, May 28, 2026. The purpose of the patrol was to anticipate public order and security disturbances, such as theft, brawls, and potential drug abuse in vulnerable areas.

The patrol team, led by Brigadir Alvien Rottama, began their search in the Grogol Petamburan area and continued to Tambora. Brimob personnel visited neighborhood watch posts and spoke with residents to ensure the neighborhood remained safe and conducive.

As the patrol entered the North Duri area of ​​Tambora, two youths were seen exhibiting suspicious behavior. They appeared shady and acted fidgety.  Their movements were suspicious and they were restless, to put it mildly.

The two were immediately ambushed and searched. The result was a blizzard. A package of sabu and a homemade bong for smoking methamphetamine were seized as evidence. The two young men were then taken by Brimob personnel to the Polsek of Tambora Station for further questioning by the Narcotics Investigation Unit.

The Head of the Brimob Unit of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Henik Maryanto stated in his statement, that after the handover process was completed, personnel resumed patrols, combing several main roads in West Jakarta.

He also stated, that regional patrols are routinely conducted as a form of police presence in the community. Preventive measures through dialogue patrols are considered highly effective in preventing potential security disturbances, while also strengthening the public’s sense of security from night to early morning.

“The Brimob of the Polda Metro Jaya continues to urge the public to increase their awareness of environmental security. They should also immediately report any potential disturbances to public order and security near their homes through the Polri 110 service,” said Kombes Pol Henik.
