The bandits were arrested by the 3P Team of the Polda Metro Jaya’s Ditsamapta for a motorcycle theft case closely linked to the distribution of hard drugs and sabu in East Jakarta.
progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Precision Pioneer Patrol Team (3P) of the Polda Metro Jaya’s Ditsamapta has completely dismantled a network of motor vehicle theft (curanmor) perpetrators closely linked to the trafficking of hard drugs and methamphetamine. This bust was the result of an intensive sting operation in East Jakarta jurisdiction in the early hours of Thursday, May 28, 2026, at approximately 2:44 a.m. Western Indonesian Time.
This information was confirmed by the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto. He stated, that the bust involved multiple cases in a series of integrated operations involving the City Patrol, Monitoring Patrol, the K9 Unit, and female police officers.
Eight suspected bandits from various interconnected roles were arrested in this bust.
“Yes, the Precision Pioneer Patrol Team, along with relevant elements, has taken firm action in the field. Starting with a routine patrol, the team successfully apprehended drug dealers in the East Flood Canal (KBT) Bicycle Road area. This, after further investigation, led officers to a motorcycle theft syndicate and methamphetamine dealer,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi on Thursday, May 28, 2026.
The details of this bust began with the arrest of two drug dealers, identified as MS and BP, along with 47 Tramadol pills. After in-depth interrogation, it was discovered that two other men at the scene, TS (38) and S (28), were part of a motorcycle theft ring that had committed five previous crimes. After apprehending TS and S, 3P personnel then proceeded to investigate a rented house on Jalan Masjid Al Marom, East Jakarta, which served as a storage facility for stolen motorcycles.
At the rented house, the 3P Team apprehended two more bandits, identified as AP and BF, who acted as receivers. Five motorcycles, the stolen goods, were also seized.
Following the arrests of the AP and BF bandits, two more bandits were also arrested. They are identified as WN (31) and MS (27). Both are strongly suspected of being methamphetamine or sabu dealers. Supporting evidence, including electronic scales, bongs, and hundreds of small, transparent plastic clips, was also found, although the two bandits admitted that their sabu supply had already been sold to the Matraman area.
To further investigate the network’s connections and identify the victims of the vehicle owners, the police immediately coordinated structurally.
“All the perpetrators, along with evidence in the form of sharp weapons (machetes and sickles), Y-shaped wrenches, hard drugs, and five stolen motorcycles, have been handed over to the East Jakarta Metro Police for further investigation,” stated Kombes Pol Bhudi.
The Polda Metro Jaya, continued Kombes Pol Bhudi, assured that they would monitor this case to its conclusion with professionalism and transparency. All arrested bandits will receive punishment in accordance with applicable laws.
Going forward, large-scale patrols during critical hours will continue to be intensified to limit the movement of street criminals and drug traffickers in the capital and its surrounding areas.
Public Order and Security (Kamtibmas) is also being urged to increase voluntary security in residential areas. Residents are also encouraged to install double locks or use additional security features on their vehicles.
Parents are also reminded to closely monitor their children’s social interactions to prevent the dangers of drug and narcotics abuse.
