The activity, held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, is part of the Purwakarta Polres Traffic Unit’s efforts to instill a culture of orderly traffic from an early age while also mitigating the risk of fatal road accidents for the nation’s future generations.
Through this activity, officers employ a humane and educational approach by educating the public about the importance of using safety equipment, especially for children riding on motorcycles.
The Purwakarta Polres Satlantas also distributed free protective helmets specifically for children riding with their parents. In addition, prizes in the form of toys were given as a token of appreciation to children who had demonstrated compliance with traffic regulations.
The Head of the Security and Safety Unit (Kamsel) of the Purwakarta Polres Satlantas, Ipda Ryan Herisandi stated in a statement, that safety education must be instilled from an early age so that it becomes a culture that sticks with them into adulthood.
“Traffic safety is a shared responsibility. Through this Polantas Menyapa activity, we want to raise awareness among children and parents that wearing a helmet is not just about complying with regulations, but also as primary protection to reduce the risk of injury in the event of an accident,” said Ipda Ryan Herisandi.
“We hope that a culture of orderly traffic behavior can develop from an early age and become a habit in everyday life,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Purwakarta Polres Traffic Unit, AKP Enggar Jati Nugroho added, that the 80th Bhayangkara Day is an opportunity for the Polri to get closer to the community by organizing activities that have real benefits.
“We want to provide a humane, educational, and directly impactful police service for the community. The distribution of children’s helmets and these simple gifts is not only a form of appreciation, but also an educational tool to increase public awareness of the importance of road safety,” said AKP Enggar Jati Nugroho.
The Purwakarta Polres Satlantas hopes that this educational activity will increase public awareness of the importance of traffic discipline. Implementation should begin within the family and be introduced from an early age.
