progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Sufmi Dasco Ahmad stated, that several commissions will continue deliberations on draft laws (RUU) during recess. These include the Asset Confiscation Bill, the One Data Bill, and the Revision of the Traffic and Road Transportation Law.
Sufmi Dasco conveyed this to the media at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
“The commission requesting permission to continue deliberating the law during recess is Commission III of the DPR. Commission III has been discussing the Asset Confiscation Law for the past two months, in this case, accepting public participation,” he explained.
In addition to the Asset Confiscation Bill, other commissions are still under discussion, including the Copyright Bill, the One Data Bill, and the Revision of the Traffic and Road Transportation Law. All of these will be held during the recess.
Meanwhile, regarding the revision of the Election Law, Sufmi Dasco continued, Commission II of the DPR will not hold formal discussions during the recess. However, Commission II will still utilize the recess to gather input from various parties, such as non-parliamentary parties.
“And then, organizations that monitor elections will compile it to make the law more perfect,” Sufmi Dasco explained.
“There shouldn’t be another JR-JR (Judicial Review), because the decisions from the JRs will be confusing. Because one decision is final and binding, followed by another JR, final and binding again. It becomes a repetition. Meanwhile, there are several differences and similarities,” he added.
Regarding the Manpower Bill, Sufmi Dasco continued, it will be discussed first after the Asset Confiscation Bill. Commission IX of the DPR has requested that discussions involve stakeholders, especially laborers.
