progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polda Metro Jaya through the Law Enforcement Collaborative Team consisting of the Cyber ​Investigation Directorate and the General Criminal Investigation Directorate tackled a number of social media accounts that were indicated to contain provocative, destructive, and hoax content during the period June to August 2026.

Director of General Criminal Investigation Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Iman Imanuddin in his explanation said, the team has conducted in-depth investigations into 28 social media activists and 37 accounts. Of these, as many as 18 were given warnings and preventive education, whereas the other 10 were processed through the investigation stage.

In the handling of the account, the owner or manager of the 22 account was given the opportunity to submit a clarification or make a remedy. In addition, as many as 30 pieces of content have been takendown as part of mitigation efforts against the spread of information that has the potential to disrupt public safety and order.

“In handling it, we put forward education, clarification and preventive measures.Law enforcement becomes the last resort when based on evidential tools an act is found that meets criminal elements,” said Kombes Pol Iman at Aula Satya Haprabu, Polda Metro Jaya District Building, Friday, August 7, 2026.

From the said investigation process, nine suspects initials BCK, AD, YAP, AYV, YNI, MMA, SAK, AS, and MZ have been detained in the handling of five police reports. Investigators have also secured and made 10 social media accounts as items of evidence for the purpose of investigation.

Kombes Pol Iman explained, the modes found in these crime attempts includevmanipulation of original documents, forgery of electronic documents, use of paid third parties to produce criminally charged content, to redistribution of unverified provocative information.

Responding to the concerns of the public due to the circulation of the various contents, the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto affirmed, that the situation of kamtibmas in the jurisdiction of the Polda Metro Jaya until now still remains safe, orderly, and conducive.

“Community activities are still running normally and smoothly. Worship and educational activities are going well. Shops as well as shopping malls remain operational. Traffic flow remains moving, and public transport services are used by the community as usual,” Kombes Pol Bhudi said.

According to him, the condition becomes a parameter that the situation in Jakarta remains safe and under control. Polda Metro Jaya will also continue to take preemptive and preventive measures as well as provide services to the public so that all activities in public spaces remain safe, comfortable and smooth.
