progresifjaya.co.id, DEPOK – Investigators from the Mobile Detective Sub-directorate (Subdit Resmob) of the Polda Metro Jaya conducted a reconstruction of the murder and mutilation of a man named Kunaefi (51) at a rented house in the Cipayung area, Depok City. The suspect, Saepul (26), was present at the reconstruction carrying medication.

Head of Unit 1 of the Polda Metro Jaya Subdit Resmob, Kompol Dimitri Mahendra confirmed, that the medication carried by the suspect, Saepul, was for HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus).

“Based on our examination, we suspect he suffers from HIV,” Kompol Dimitri Mahendra told the media in Cipayung Jaya, Depok, on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

He noted, that while there is no cure for HIV, antiretroviral (ARV) drugs are currently available. These drugs function by stopping the HIV virus from replicating in the blood and protecting the immune system by maintaining stable CD4 cell counts.

Kompol Dimitri stated, that due to his HIV condition, Saepul is required to take medication regularly and carry it with him.

“Yes, he is required to carry it,” he said.

Despite having his hands bound with cable ties, Saepul was still able to carry the box of medication labeled ‘Telado’.

The reconstruction clearly revealed the facts and the sequence of events regarding the premeditated murder committed by Saepul. During the process, Saepul reenacted a total of 51 scenes.

Kompol Dimitri stated, that the 51 scenes were divided into 30 main scenes. The reenactment covered moments ranging from Saepul searching for the victim and intending to seize the victim’s belongings, to the act of murder itself. 

“Based on this reconstruction, we enacted approximately 30 key scenes. These ranged from the moment the perpetrator sought out the victim and formed the intent to take the victim’s belongings, through to the actual killing, the dismemberment, and the disposal of the victim’s body parts,” he explained.

“Each of the 30 main scenes reconstructed with the perpetrator and witnesses comprised sub-scenes, bringing the total to around 51 scenes,” he added.

He further noted, that the most critical moments in the reenactment were the stabbing, the dismemberment, and the disposal of the victim’s remains.

“The scene where the perpetrator stabbed the victim is Scene 15. The scene where the perpetrator dismembered the victim’s body is Scene 17. Subsequently, Scene 22 depicts the disposal of the upper torso, while Scene 24 shows the disposal of the legs,” explained Kompol Dimitri.

As a result of these heinous acts, investigators have charged Saepul under Articles 458 paragraph (2), 459, 469 paragraph (2), and/or 479 paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code (KUHP). The potential penalties are severe, ranging from the death penalty to a maximum of 20 years in prison. (Bembo)
