progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA — The Polda Metro Jaya will coordinate with the Education Agency and relevant stakeholders to assist 25 school dropouts—identified during the handling of the riots near the DPR/MPR RI building—in regaining access to education.

The Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Iman Imannudin stated, that the best interests and rights of the children remain a priority at every stage of the handling process.

“Among the children who were detained, there are 25 who are no longer in school. We will coordinate with relevant parties to help them regain access to education,” said Kombes Pol Iman during a press conference on Friday, August 28, 2026.

The Director of Women and Children Protection (PPA) and Human Trafficking (PPO) Investigation at the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Rita Wulandari Wibowo added, that support is also being provided to children who are currently enrolled in school. This measure is being implemented through education and guidance, involving schools, educators, and relevant parties tailored to each child’s specific needs.

Coordination with the Education Agency will continue as part of efforts to ensure educational continuity while providing a positive environment for the children’s development.

The Head of Public Relations for the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto stated, that families and educational environments play a crucial role in monitoring children’s activities and social circles. Effective communication between parents, schools, and children is essential so that they possess sufficient understanding before participating in activities or accepting invitations that could place them in risky situations.

“Children must have the space to learn, grow, and prepare for their futures. Therefore, fulfilling their rights—including the right to education—requires collective care from families, schools, the government, and the community,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi. (Bembo)
