A Gesture of Care from the Polri, Polda Metro Jaya Hold Social Outreach and Distribute Basic Necessities to Support Social Recovery in Kampung Ambon

The Polda Metro Jaya are fostering social recovery in Kampung Ambon by organizing health outreach activities and distributing basic necessity packages.
progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polda Metro Jaya conducted a social outreach program, providing healthcare services and distributing 1.000 packages of basic necessities to the residents of Kampung Ambon, located within the Permata Complex in Kedaung Kali Angke, Cengkareng, West Jakarta. The event took place on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
Attended by the Kapolda Metro Jaya, Komjen Pol Dadang Hartanto, the initiative is part of the “Polisi Bersama Masyarakat” program—an overarching vision set by the Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Suyudi Ario Seto. This effort serves as a tangible expression of the Polri’s concern for the residents following a series of law enforcement operations targeting drug trafficking in the area.
Healthcare services provided included general medical treatment and mass circumcision. A team of 10 medical personnel assisted 100 recipients. Additionally, 1.000 packages of basic necessities were prepared for the residents of RW 07 and the surrounding vicinity.
This initiative is a key component of the Polri’s efforts toward social recovery in Kampung Ambon—an area previously known as a hotspot for drug trafficking and the focus of intensive police enforcement.
The Polda Metro Jaya have adopted a humanistic approach, combining healthcare services and social assistance with community support to foster the recovery of the neighborhood.
Kapolda Dadang emphasized that addressing the drug issue requires more than just law enforcement. A comprehensive strategy—one that also considers social conditions, the environment, and the well-being of the community—is essential to ensure that such problems do not recur.
“This area serves as a case study on how to address issues—not merely at the surface level or by treating symptoms, but by tackling the root causes fundamentally,” said Kapolda Dadang.
Furthermore, Kapolda Dadang instructed his personnel to remain engaged with the community, listen to the residents’ needs, and ensure that all initiatives deliver tangible benefits.
“We must verify that these programs truly reach the people who need them most,” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations for the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto added, that these health outreach programs and social assistance efforts reflect the Polri’s genuine concern for the community. This initiative runs parallel to ongoing law enforcement efforts against drug trafficking.
“Guided by the spirit of ‘Polisi Bersama Masyarakat” and “Kerja Melayani Jakarta”, we want the police’s presence to be felt beyond just law enforcement—through concrete care and support. We invite all residents to work together in safeguarding their neighborhood, making Kampung Ambon an increasingly safe, healthy, and comfortable environment for our families and children,” he explained.
