Deputy Speaker of the I DPR RI, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, seeing off the first group of Indonesian pilgrims for the 1447 Hijriah Hajj.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – As a manifestation of the state’s commitment to continuously providing the best possible service for pilgrims, from departure to the pilgrimage in the Holy Land, Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, was present to send off the first group of Indonesian hajj pilgrims for 1447 Hijri.

“This demonstrates the state’s presence to oversee and ensure that pilgrims receive optimal service, both before departure and during their stay in the Holy Land,” said Sufmi Dasco during the send-off at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

He also conveyed, that this year’s hajj pilgrimage featured a number of significant improvements compared to previous years. He believes these service improvements are an indicator of the government’s commitment to providing comfort and security for pilgrims.

Furthermore, Sufmi Dasco also expressed his appreciation for the preparedness of the hajj officials who have been prepared to accompany pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage. He stated, that the presence of on-call officers is crucial to ensuring the smooth running of the entire pilgrimage.

He also highlighted improvements in facilities for pilgrims, including additional services and improved food quality in the Holy Land. He stated, that with better management, he hopes catering services will improve compared to previous years.

“With these improvements, we hope pilgrims can perform their pilgrimages more comfortably,” he said.

The distribution of Nusuk cards, which have been distributed to pilgrims since they arrived in Indonesia, also drew attention from the Gerindra Party legislator. He believes this policy has streamlined the departure process and minimized administrative obstacles that previously frequently occurred.

He noted, that this step has also resulted in a more orderly arrangement of groups. This allows pilgrims to depart and perform their pilgrimages in a more organized manner, including within the same family or group.

“This makes departures more orderly and organized, so pilgrims are not separated,” he explained.

Sufmi Dasco continued, explaining that the DPR RI also expressed its appreciation for all parties involved in organizing the hajj, including relevant ministries and other supporting institutions that have worked hard to prepare the pilgrims for their departure.

He expressed his hope that this year’s hajj pilgrimage would proceed smoothly without any significant obstacles. He also prayed for the health and safety of all Indonesian pilgrims during their pilgrimage in the Holy Land.

“We pray for all pilgrims to perform their pilgrimage smoothly, return home safely, and have an accepted hajj,” Sufmi Dasco said.
