progresifjaya.co.id, DIY – The construction of the Polda of Yogyakarta (DIY) Headquarters, the land for which was donated by the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, embraces four Smart City concepts. The development, which is also the result of collaboration between various parties, strongly emphasizes the concepts of a data-driven policing hub, a social listening and sentiment intelligence system, a cybersecurity defense center, and finally, a decision intelligence and knowledge system.

Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo, who attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Polda of Yogyakarta Headquarters stated, that the data-driven policing hub concept is a police control center that utilizes real-time data from various sources to facilitate rapid, accurate, and fact-based decision-making.

“Then there’s the concept of a social listening and sentiment intelligence system, a system to monitor and understand public opinion and feelings, especially on social media, so that the police can respond to issues more quickly and appropriately,” said Kapolri Listyo Sigit in his remarks at the Polda of Yogyakarta Headquarters on Sunday, May 3, 2026.

Furthermore, Kapolri Listyo Sigit continued, the Polda of Yogyakarta Headquarters will also be equipped with a cybersecurity defense center. This is a digital protection center tasked with protecting systems and data from cyberattacks, such as hacking, online fraud, and other digital crimes.

Meanwhile, the decision intelligence and knowledge system is a system that processes data and experience into knowledge.

The Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo, conducted the groundbreaking or laying of the first stone for the construction of the Polda of Yogyakarta Headquarters.

In his remarks, the Kapolri also expressed his gratitude to Ngarsa Dalem, Governor of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, for the land donation provided, as well as to all parties who supported the construction of the Polda of Yogyakarta Headquarters.

“The land for the construction of the Polda of Yogyakarta  Headquarters was provided by Sultan Ground, which was then followed up with a letter of intent,” said Kapolri Listyo Sigit.

Sultan Ground is land owned by the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Sultanate (not privately owned) and holds special customary land rights under the Special Region of Yogyakarta Special Region Law. Sultan Ground cannot be sold, but can be used by the community through fiber kekancing permits for social or residential purposes.

“Therefore, it formally meets the requirements for construction by the Polri through a mechanism funded by the State Budget,” he explained.

Finally, Kapolri Listyo Sigit also instructed all levels of the Polda it Yogyakarta to provide optimal service to the public.

“We hope that the Polda of Yogyakarta will truly be able to provide optimal service to the Special Region of Yogyakarta, known as a city of culture, a city of tourism, and a city of education. Furthermore, the four concepts proposed have helped leaders make smarter, more accurate, and more sustainable decisions,” the Kapolri stated in his order.
