The Kakorlantas Polri, Irjen Pol Agus Suryonugroho, conducted a “Polantas Menyapa” activity in Bogor City, engaging in a friendly and engaging conversation with the ojol community.

progresifjaya.co.id, BOGOR – The Head of the Polri Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas Polri), Irjen Pol Agus Suryonugroho, held a “Polantas Menyapa” event in Bogor City, West Java, on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. During the event, the Irjen Pol Agus encouraged the online motorcycle taxi (ojol) community to transform into pioneers of road safety and strategic partners with the Polri in maintaining public order.

Accompanying the Head of the Traffic Corps were the Director of Traffic for the Polda of West Java, Kombes Pol Raydian Kokrosono, and the Kapolresta of the Bogor City, Kombes Pol Rio Wahyu Anggoro.

In a friendly chat with the ojol community, Irjen Agus stated, that the current face of the Traffic Police has changed in accordance with the direction of the Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo. Traffic Police must serve the public with sincerity. And ojol are no longer just road users.  However, he has become a close friend and brother to the Polri.

A statement made by Irjen Pol Agus drew thunderous applause from the hundreds of ojol drivers listening.

“Don’t forget, when you have your child’s wedding, please invite me. When i have time, i’ll prioritize attending. Because the message from the Kapolri that ojol are friends of the Polri. Ojol are friends of the Traffic Police,” he said enthusiastically.

Irjen Pol Agus stated, that two-way communication and camaraderie are the main keys to resolving various problems in the field.

“The Traffic Police’s current approach is one of compassion. We make it a point to stay connected, sit together, and discuss any problems on the road, because our colleagues are always on the road,” he explained.

During this activity, Irjen Pol Agus also provided an educational message regarding road safety. He commended the discipline of motorcycle taxi drivers, who have been seen as compliant in wearing helmets. He also reminded them to avoid further violations such as going against the flow of traffic.

“We may live on a straight road, but we must not have accidents on a straight road. So obey, obey traffic laws, and prioritize safety. I really entrust my colleagues to truly become road safety heroes,” he emphasized.

“I have a big dream, as the Kakorlantas Polri. But i’m not proud to enforce the law. We don’t enjoy issuing tickets. But we are proud when you all become safety pioneers, obey yourselves. Obey yourselves about traffic regulations,” he added.

Irjen Pol Agus also addressed the issue of supervision. He stated, that he would strengthen digital technology in the Bogor City area.

“Not just tickets anymore, but E-TLE. I will give E-TLE to the Kapolresta  so that ETLE can monitor all road users,” he said.

In addition to traffic matters, he also entrusted the task of assisting ojol in managing public order and security (Harkamtibmas).  With the high mobility of ojol, it is hoped that these drivers can act as the eyes and ears of the police in the field.

“You can communicate with the Polri on the road, provide information, and you can even attend the first crime scene. Whether it’s an accident scene or perhaps a criminal incident,” said Irjen Pol Agus.

Finally, concluding his lighthearted and enjoyable conversation with the ojol drivers, Irjen Pol Agus also expressed his prayers and hopes that the synergy between the Polri and ojol drivers would continue to be maintained.

“The face of the Polri has changed. It’s a different kind of traffic police force, one that fosters camaraderie, embraces the community, and is close to the community. We entrust this to you, and we hope you will accept us as friends of the ojol drivers,” he said conveying his message and hope.
