Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto, and Director of Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Iman Imannudin, provide a press statement revealing the illegal logging of 1.494 motorcycles destined for export to Tahiti and Togo.

progresifjaya.co.id,  JAKARTA – After successfully uncovering a warehouse holding 1.494 illegal motorcycles on Jalan Kemandoran VIII, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, the Polda Metro Jaya’s Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimum) has uncovered the origins of these thousands of illegal motorcycles. According to the Head of the Motor Vehicle (Ranmor) Sub-Directorate of the Polda Metro Jaya Criminal Investigation Directorate, AKBP Noor Maghantara, the thousands of motorcycles were imported from collectors, who were diverted from fiduciary collateral.

“Initially, the receiver received the vehicle from a collector. Some of these collectors were dealers, while others were individuals. The origin of the vehicle is suspected to be the transfer of a vehicle with a fiduciary guarantee,” said AKBP Noor Maghantara to the media on Monday, May 11, 2026.

Investigators from the Ranmor Sub-Directorate are currently investigating whether the motorcycle was given directly by the vehicle owner. They are also investigating the possibility of illegal access in the case.

“We are still investigating the source. Did the owner of the data directly apply for financing or did illegal access occur, resulting in the use of the data for the loan,” said AKBP Noor Maghantara again.

Meanwhile, investigators have named WS as a suspect. WS is known to be the director of a company that manages the purchase, storage, and export of vehicles abroad.

A total of 1.494 motorcycles are suspected of being used to receive stolen goods on Jalan Kemandoran VIII, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.

The Director of Criminal Investigation at the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Iman Imannudin, also explained this.  He stated, that the company’s illegal motorcycle warehouse, located on Jalan Kemandoran VIII, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, had been operating since 2022 and had exported more than 99.000 illegal motorcycles abroad.

He also stated, that the company obtained the vehicles in complete form from collectors. The vehicles were then “mutilated” to facilitate the international shipping process.

“The vehicles were obtained in complete form. According to the suspect, they were dismantled to facilitate shipping,” said Kombes Pol Iman.

The Head of Public Relations for the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto also added, that all the illegal motorcycles were shipped to the island nations of Tahiti and Togo in Africa.

“The suspect stored thousands of these vehicles in a special warehouse. Some of the vehicles were also dismantled for component parts to make them easier to package or disguise. They were then shipped illegally to international markets, including Tahiti and Togo,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi.
