Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri, and staff, along with two Bhabinkamtibmas officers receiving awards for their dedication to the community in their respective areas of duty

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Two Bhabinkamtibmas (community police officers) received awards from the Kapolda Metro Jaya for their achievements in the humanitarian field. The two Bhabinkamtibmas officers were Aiptu Exwanto and Aiptu Agus Riyanto. The awards were presented when the Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri gave instructions to 907 Bhabinkamtibmas officers during an activity titled “Guarding Jakarta, We Create a Sense of Security and Comfort in Our Neighborhoods” at the Metro Jaya Meeting Hall (BPMJ) on Wednesday, (29/10).

The Kabid Humas of the Polda Metro Jaya, Brigjen Pol Ade Ary Syam Indradi explained, that the two Bhabinkamtibmas officers received the awards for their dedication to helping the community in their respective areas of duty.

“What Aiptu Exwanto and Aiptu Agus Riyanto have done demonstrates that Bhabinkamtibmas are not just about maintaining security, but also about bringing hope to the community. They work with their hearts and serve selflessly,” said Brigjen Pol Ade Ary.

For the record, Aiptu Exwanto, a Bhabinkamtibmas officer in Poris Gaga Village, Tangerang City Polrestro, manages the “Yayasan Rumah Yatim Berkah Amanah” shelter. This shelter houses and fosters 110 orphans so they can continue to receive proper education and care.

Meanwhile, Aiptu Agus Riyanto, a Bhabinkamtibmas officer in Srengseng Village, West Jakarta Police Department, built a school for scavenger children in 2019 at his own expense. To date, 160 scavenger children receive daily education and guidance from him.

According to Brigjen Pol Ade Ary, their actions are a concrete example of the Polri’s Precision approach, showing empathy and closeness to the community, especially to children in need of support.

He further emphasized the importance of the Bhabinkamtibmas’ role in facing the challenges of the digital era, including preventing the spread of hoaxes that can cause public unrest.

“The active presence of Bhabinkamtibmas can prevent unrest before it develops into a public order disturbance. In general, Bhabinkamtibmas must also possess empathy and communication skills that align with the character of the community. This is a manifestation of the Polri as protectors, guardians, and servants of the community who always want to ensure their citizens feel safe and protected,” he added. (Bembo)
