Polda Metro Jaya Ensures that the All Ascension of Jesus Christ Celebrations at the Church Runs Smoothly

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Polda Metro Jaya ensures that all Ascension Jesus Christ Celebrations in churches under its jurisdiction will run safely and smoothly during the long holiday period from May 14-17, 2026.
Head of Public Relations for the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto stated, that hundreds of Christian places of worship will receive security from Polda Metro Jaya and District Police personnel.
“The Polda Metro Jaya ensures that today’s Ascension Jesus Christ
Celebrations run safely and smoothly. District Police officers are providing security at approximately 860 places of worship within the Polda Metro Jaya jurisdiction,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
In addition to security at churches, police are also conducting patrols and directing traffic at several busy locations, including tourist attractions and shopping centers, which are expected to be busy during the long holiday.
Kombes Pol Bhudi also stated, that his team has anticipated potential disruptions to public order and security, such as traffic jams, crime, and the spread of hoaxes and provocative issues on social media.
“All personnel are asked to prioritize humane measures and increase patrols and surveillance to maintain a conducive situation,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi.
However, he continued, the Polda Metro Jaya continues to urge the public to exercise caution during their activities during the long holiday. They are asked to comply with traffic regulations and safeguard their valuables while traveling.
“We invite the entire community to work together to maintain security and order so that the religious services and long holiday can proceed smoothly. If the public requires police assistance or experiences any disturbances to public order and security, immediately contact the 110 emergency service, which is available 24/7,” Kombes Pol Bhudi concluded.
