progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Kapolda Metro Jaya, Komjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri, received a promotion by one rank based on Presidential Decree (Keppres). The Presidential Decree is registered under Number 38/Polri/Year 2026, dated May 13, 2026.
The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto, and his staff have congratulated Komjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri on the increase in rank from two to three stars. The congratulations were posted on the official Instagram account @poldameyrojaya.
“Congratulations and best wishes to Komjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri, S.I.K., M.Si., on his promotion to Commissioner General of Police,” read a message on Instagram @poldametrojaya on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
Previously, the position of Kapolda Metro Jaya was held by a high-ranking Polri officer holding the rank of Inspector General (Irjen) or two-star general. However, this has now been changed to a three-star general (Komjen).
Komjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri remains as Kapolda Metro Jaya. The recipient of the Honorary Brevet for the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres) “Setia Waspada” in April 2026 was inaugurated by the Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo, on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, replacing Irjen Pol Karyoto, who is now also a Komjen Pol
Komjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri is a general from the Tunggal Panaluan Battalion, alma mater of the Indonesian Polri Academy (Akpol) 1994. He was born in Tasikmalaya on November 16, 1972, and is a Scorpio. He is also the son of retired Indonesian Army Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) A. Sukmana.
Prior to becoming the Kapolda Metro Jaya, Komjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri previously served as Deputy Chief of the Polri Criminal Investigation Agency (Wakabareskrim Polri) of the Polri (2022-2025). He also served as Director of Cyber Crimes (Dirtipid) at the Bareskrim Polri, Kapolresta of the Tangerang, Kapolres of Sukabumi, and Kapolres of the Cirebon City.
Furthermore, Komjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri was also entrusted with leading the Human Trafficking (TPPO) Crime Task Force and the Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (P3GN) Task Force within the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri).
