progresifjaya.co.id,  JAKARTA – Three individuals suspected of involvement in a mob attack that killed a resident named Bambang Setiawan in Pejompongan, Central Jakarta, have been officially named suspects. The three were apprehended in the Babakan Madang area, Bogor Regency, on Friday, September 11, 2026, at approximately 21:30 WIB.

“On September 11, 2026, we successfully located the three suspected perpetrators and carried out their arrest in the Babakan Madang area, Bogor Regency, at around 21:30 WIB,” said the Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Iman Imanuddin, on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

Kombes Pol Iman stated, that the suspects are currently undergoing investigation by the State Security Sub-directorate (Subdit Kamneg) of the Polda Metro Jaya’s General Criminal Investigation Directorate. They have also been detained at the Polda Metro Jaya detention center.

“The series of investigative processes we are conducting serves as a form of public accountability to the community,” he said.

He further explained, that the decision to name them suspects was based on leads derived from digital CCTV analysis, amateur video footage, latent fingerprints found during the crime scene investigation, and facial sketches of the suspected perpetrators.

Previously, the Polda Metro Jaya had released the faces of two suspected perpetrators involved in the attack on Bambang Setiawan. According to Kombes Pol Iman, the physical descriptions of the suspects were determined with the help of a facial sketching expert.

During the investigation, detectives have questioned 14 witnesses. These witnesses provided statements regarding the events—specifically the destruction of public facilities and the mob attack—that resulted in the death of the victim, Bambang Setiawan. (Bembo)
