One-Stop Integrated Administrative System (Samsat) within the Polda Metro Jaya jurisdiction visited kindergartens in their respective operational areas. These visits aimed to introduce the police as friendly, approachable, and caring figures.
This activity aligns with the vision of Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Suyudi Ario Seto, who wants children to feel safe and comfortable when interacting with police officers. Through a fun approach, the police aim to build trust and dispel the notion that police officers are frightening figures.
Kapolda Metro Jaya, Komjen Pol Dadang Hartanto also emphasized the importance of building public trust from an early age through a police presence that is close to and cares about the local community.
“Children need to know the police as friendly friends who are ready to help. By fostering positive interactions early on, we hope to build trust so that they feel safe, comfortable, and unafraid when meeting police officers,” said Kapolda Dadang.
During these visits, Samsat personnel interacted directly with the children through various educational and fun activities, ranging from traditional games and sing-alongs to playing alongside the officers. A joyful atmosphere prevailed as the children participated in the activities and conversed with the personnel.
Polda Metro Jaya Director of Traffic, Kombes Pol Firman Darmansyah also emphasized, that a humanistic approach toward children is part of the effort to bring police services closer to the community.
“Through the Police as Children’s Friends program, we want to instill an understanding from an early age that the police are here to protect, assist, and ensure public safety. We hope this positive experience will foster the children’s trust in the Polri,” said Kombes Pol Firman.
The Police as Children’s Friends program embodies the spirit of “Polisi Bersama Masyarakat” by bringing Polri officers directly into educational settings. This approach aims to strengthen ties among the police, children, educators, and the community at large.
Through simultaneous visits conducted by 14 Samsat the Polda Metro Jaya also hope that the police presence will be increasingly embraced as an integral part of community life. Fostering this closeness from an early age is expected to lay the foundation for a sense of security, trust, and a harmonious relationship between the Polri and the nation’s future generation.
