progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – President Prabowo Subianto dismissed Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo from his position as Chief of Presidential Staff (KSP) on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. This decision was made just one day after Listyo Sigit was named a suspect in a case involving the alleged illegal wiretapping of President Prabowo’s phone numbers.

The dismissal was announced by Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi during a press conference at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.

“One of the suspects is Listyo Sigit, who served as Chief of Presidential Staff. Therefore, we can inform you that this morning, the President made the decision to dismiss Listyo Sigit Prabowo from his position as Chief of Presidential Staff,” said Prasetyo.

To fill the vacancy, President Prabowo has appointed Letjen TNI Aryo Windutomo as Acting Chief of Presidential Staff.

“Furthermore, the President has appointed an acting official to fill the vacancy, he has designated Letjen TNI Aryo Windutomo to serve as the Acting Chief of Presidential Staff,” Prasetyo stated.

The dismissal of Listyo Sigit comes amidst an ongoing legal process regarding the alleged illegal wiretapping case, which implicates three high-ranking Polri officers. In addition to Listyo, the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) has named Irjen Pol Ahrie Sonta Nasution and Irjen Pol Eko Hadi Santoso as suspects.

Beyond these three suspects, 10 other generals are also allegedly implicated in the wiretapping of President Prabowo.

Previously, the Head of the Bareskrim Polri, Komjen Pol Asep Safrudin, announced the naming of these three suspects during a press conference at the Polri Headquarters yesterday, Tuesday. Komjen Pol Asep stated, that the three suspects allegedly ordered the wiretapping of several phone numbers without following proper legal procedures. One of the phone numbers targeted belonged to President Prabowo.

“The suspects allegedly conducted unauthorized wiretapping—bypassing established procedures—against the President of the Republic of Indonesia, state officials, political figures, media outlets, leaders of mass organizations, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs),” stated Komjen Pol Asep.

This alleged wiretapping took place between 2025 and 2026. According to Komjen Pol Asep, the suspects allegedly ordered the wiretaps without adhering to the protocols stipulated in the Kapolri Regulation Number 5 of 2010.

Investigators also suspect that the individuals attempted to erase traces of their wiretapping activities from the Lawful Interception Management System (LIMS) in October 2026. This system was allegedly used to input the phone numbers targeted for surveillance. However, the numbers entered reportedly underwent no verification process and were unrelated to any ongoing investigation or legal case.

During the investigation, the Bareskrim examined 10 witnesses and three expert witnesses. Investigators also seized several pieces of evidence, including 11 mobile phones, one iPad, and four USB flash drives. The case came to light following allegations that an order had been issued to delete wiretap files from the LIMS computer system in October 2026.

An official who became aware of the incident filed a police report on October 30, 2026. In addition to President Prabowo, the illegal wiretapping allegedly targeted state officials, political figures, media outlets, mass organizations, NGOs, and businesspeople.

Notably, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka was not among the targets, leading to speculation that the “Solo Gang” might be involved in this scheme.

The three suspects face charges under Article 258 of Law Number 1 of 2023 (the Criminal Code), which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. They are also charged under Article 332, paragraph (1) and/or paragraph (2) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of six years in prison.

Furthermore, investigators have invoked Article 32, paragraph (1) of the Law on Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE Law), which carries a maximum prison sentence of eight years. (Bembo)
