Holding the Record for the Polda with the Highest LP in Indonesia in 2025, Polda Metro Jaya Always Adapts and Strives for Perfection

Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri.
progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA — 2025 marked a significant milestone for the Polda Metro Jaya as the regional police institution with the highest number of police reports (LP) in Indonesia. From January to December 2025, 74.013 reports were received and handled. This figure is equivalent to 16 percent of national crime reports.
This presentation was delivered directly by Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri at the 2025 Year-End Release (RAT) event held at the Metro Jaya Meeting Hall, South Jakarta, on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
“Nationally, the Polri recorded 329.120 crime reports throughout 2025. Of these, Polda Metro Jaya was the largest contributor, receiving 74.013 police reports, or LPs, regarding crimes. This was the highest recipient of LPs of all regional police forces in Indonesia, contributing 16 percent of the total national police reports,” explained Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’.
He stated, that the high number of incoming criminal cases in 2025 is inseparable from the complex nature of the Polda Metro Jaya jurisdiction. This includes government centers, businesses, and the high level of community activity and mobility. The complexity of social issues in metropolitan areas like Jakarta also influences the number of reported crimes, which fluctuate significantly.

Furthermore, Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’ continued, the high number of incoming criminal cases also reflects increasing public awareness of reporting crimes and utilizing police services.
“Public trust in reporting is a crucial part of law enforcement efforts. And we must be fully aware of this,” he said.
Furthermore, the dynamics of changing crime modes have also evolved and have many variations to achieve nefarious goals. It is certainly a serious challenge for the personnel of the Directorate of Investigation to be able to respond appropriately to these challenges.
But it requires high-quality skills to be able to answer them correctly. This is what the Directorate of Investigation is currently doing as an adaptive strategy to continuously upgrade the quality of its personnel’s capabilities in dealing with criminals. The problem is that criminals’ scheming has become increasingly agile, and they are also clever at concealing cases with their methods.
This high-quality skill is evident in data from the General Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimum), the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus), and the Narcotics Investigation Directorate (Ditresnarkoba) for 2025. There were 2.425 prominent cases handled entirely by the general criminal investigation division.
Meanwhile, the special criminal investigation division was more focused on highlighting the resolution of cases, which accounted for 58 percent of all cases handled. One example was the uncovering of an international network of illegal used clothing import syndicates that froze Rp22 billion in money laundering assets.
Meanwhile, the narcotics division preferred to demonstrate its high-quality capabilities by fully covering 7.426 cases with 9.494 suspects.
Of the thousands of cases covered in full, several standout cases include the uncovering of a 612,6 kg synthetic tobacco home industry in a Bekasi shophouse. Then there’s the impressive raid on a Middle Eastern syndicate, also known as the Crescent Triangle, in a Bekasi housing complex. This syndicate was known to be attempting to distribute 516 kg of methamphetamine. That’s good, isn’t it.
The cyber technology sector, specifically the Cyber Investigation Directorate (Ditressiber), is also demonstrating its unwavering commitment to competitiveness. The significant increase in cybercrime, dominated by online fraud or scams, illegal access, threats and extortion, and even online pornography, has been handled almost perfectly—because perfection belongs only to God—by its personnel. Throughout 2025, 4.272 cybercrime cases were filed with the Polda Metro Jaya with 122 suspects among those thousands of cases.
Accident Data and Protest Security

Beyond handling criminal acts, the Polda Metro Jaya has also been noted for intensively securing various demonstrations in Jakarta and its surrounding areas, using persuasive and humane methods.
This security strategy demonstrates the Polri’s commitment to maintaining balance, both regarding citizens’ rights to express their opinions in public and the state’s obligation to maintain public order and security.
Furthermore, Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’ also shared his explanation regarding traffic accident data within the Polda Metro Jaya jurisdiction throughout 2025.
According to records from the Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate, 13.184 accidents occurred during that year. These incidents resulted in 740 fatalities, while 16.038 people were injured.
Referring to the 13.184 accident figures, Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’ admitted that this number remains relatively high. Therefore, rigorous efforts to reduce these high rates are mandatory.
From implementing traffic engineering schemes and enforcing the law on the ground, to utilizing electronic surveillance technology, we are constantly working tirelessly and using it as a key strategy to suppress the situation.
“One of our key strategies for reducing traffic accidents is consistent enforcement, including the use of electronic systems. We issued 893.023 tickets and warnings in 2025, and this is our key strategy for reducing accidents,” said Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’ confidently.
At the end of his speech, Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’ used his high-pitched tenor voice to reiterate the Polda Metro Jaya’s commitment to continuous excellence, both in terms of improving work professionalism, providing high-quality public service standards, and utilizing the latest digital technology in the 4.0 era.
So, fully adaptive. It’s a perfect fit, and certainly fits with the distinctive style of the Polda Metro Jaya, which has always strived to be flexible, adaptive, and dynamic. But never be stiff—keep moving forward and doing good—is his philosophy, guys. Great. (Bembo)
