Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri, delivering a farewell speech to the Polda Metro Jaya PJU’s.
progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Following the handover ceremony for the Polda Metro Jaya High-Ranking Officers (PJU), the event continued with a farewell and welcome ceremony for the PJU and Kapolres’s at the Jakarta Metro Jaya Meeting Hall (BPMJ) on Monday morning, January 5, 2026. This event served as a sign of organizational renewal and also affirmed the commitment to improving the quality of public services within the Polda Metro Jaya jurisdiction.
Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri continued to lead the event. Also present were Wakapolda Brigjen Pol Dekananto Eko Purwono, the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the Polda Metro Jaya Bhayangkari (Bhayangkari), Polda Metro Jaya PJU, the Polda Metro Jaya Kapolres’s, and Bhayangkari administrators.
In his remarks, Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’ emphasized that this farewell and welcome event was not a routine ceremony. Rather, it served as a form of institutional appreciation for the dedication of former officers and also as the beginning of significant responsibilities for the newly inaugurated officers. He also expressed his appreciation for the former officers’ dedication, integrity, and hard work during their time at the Polda Metro Jaya.
“Positions may change, but the responsibility for service never changes. The good values instilled in them must be carried forward and developed in their next assignment. That is the core value that must always be carried forward in their duties,” explained Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’.

To the new officers, Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’ emphasized the importance of maintaining the continuity of existing programs and performance. This should also be accompanied by adaptive updates to the dynamics of security and public order (kamtibmas) in Jakarta and its surrounding areas.
Firm yet fair leadership, responsive yet vigilant, and a strong focus on public service were the main emphases emphasized by Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’.
He specifically addressed the four newly appointed Kapolres’s, urging them to reduce the number of brawls to zero. The Kapolres’s were also instructed to be directly involved in the field, particularly during critical times in vulnerable locations.
He also urged the Kapolres’s to be actively present within the community, from schools to religious leaders, community leaders, and even youth. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening and maintaining synergy with local governments, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and community elements. Community empowerment is also essential as part of efforts to prevent disturbances to public order and security. Collaboration is crucial for maintaining security in a metropolitan area like Jakarta, and this, of course, requires consistent police presence among the community.
“Early detection and mitigation are key. Every piece of information, no matter how small, must be acted upon quickly and accurately,” emphasized Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’. (Bembo)
