progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – To welcome the arrival of Ramadan 1447 H in 2026, Polda Metro Jaya is holding the Routine Regional Police Operation Pekat Jaya 2026. This joint operation aims to suppress socially unhealthy practices (Pekat). The goal is to maintain the conditions and atmosphere of fasting, or fasting, observed by the majority of the community, and maintain public order.

Operation Pekat Jaya 2026 will run for 15 days throughout Polda Metro Jaya’s jurisdiction, from January 28th to February 11th.

A total of 675 joint personnel from Polda Metro Jaya, the Polres and the ranks, the TNI, and the Jakarta Provincial Government will be deployed in this operation. The operation will target all potential disturbances to public order and security. These include brawls, motorcycle gangs, thuggery, prostitution, gangsterism, illegal alcohol and drugs. They are also potential targets for firecracker use, illegal street racing, and other street crimes that disturb the public.

Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri stated in his official statement, that Operation Pekat Jaya 2026 is a strategic measure by the Polda Metro Jaya to anticipate increased security disturbances ahead of Ramadhan 1447 H.

“We are carrying out this routine joint operation firmly and professionally. However, a humane approach is still prioritized so that the public can remain safe and comfortable in carrying out their activities and worship,” said the Kapolda Metro, who is commonly known as Kang Asep ‘Sniper’ by the author.

Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’ also stated, that the operation will focus on vulnerable areas such as Central Jakarta, East Jakarta, and several border areas in South Jakarta. At these locations, monitoring posts and joint mobile patrols will be deployed. In addition, the PPA Directorate and the Binmas Directorate of the Polda Metro Jaya will also undertake preemptive measures through community outreach and engagement in schools and with youth at the sub-district level identified as prone to brawls.

In addition to repressive law enforcement measures, Operation Pekat Jaya 2026 also acts reactively to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and performance of organizations and institutions by strengthening cross-sector synergy and coordination. Collaboration and synergy with the TNI, local governments, and other stakeholders will continue to be encouraged. This effort also aims to encourage active community participation in maintaining security and order in the community.
