Evidence of 16 kilograms of sabu hidden by a dealer in a car tire.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – A drug dealer’s subterfuge hiding 16 kilograms of methamphetamine or sabu in a car tire in the Bojongsari area of ​​Depok, West Java, was uncovered by the Polda Metro Jaya Narcotics Directorate (Ditresnarkoba). Two suspected perpetrators, identified as RS (32) and H (35), were arrested at two different locations on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at around 5:30 p.m. WIB.

The arrests of these dealers stemmed from information received from the public about drug trafficking activity in the Bojongsari area of ​​Depok. Following up on this information, the police conducted an investigation and ultimately arrested the two suspects at two different locations.

The first arrest occurred on the side of Jalan Mawar, Jurug Village.  Police seized 3 kilograms of sabu, along with a Honda Brio and three cell phones. Further investigation led to the Kirana Gardenia housing complex in Bojongsari. There, another 13 kilograms of sabu was found hidden in the tires of a green Suzuki Katana.

In addition to the sabu, two sets of car tires and three cutter knives were also confiscated, suspected of being used to dismantle and conceal the sabu packages.

Head of Unit 1, Sub-Directorate 3, Narcotics Investigation Directorate of the Polda Metro Jaya, AKP Ari Purwanto stated, that this case is quite interesting to follow because of the unusual modus operandi.

“The sabu was hidden in the tires, and the car was towed. It was then dismantled and distributed. Recently, there have been many cases of evidence being found in tires using tow trucks. Please be vigilant in housing complexes and elsewhere, and protect the environment. Let’s work together to protect our younger generation from the dangers of drugs,” explained AKP Ari Purwanto.
