progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Boston Celtics have officially announced a contract extension for their young player, Jordan Walsh. This move underscores the Boston Celtics’ commitment to maintaining squad continuity and developing potential young talent for the future.
According to an official report on the NBA website, Friday, July 24, 2026, the Boston Celtics and Jordan Walsh have agreed to a new three-year contract worth up to US$15 million (approximately Rp244 billion). This agreement also complements the previously activated US$2,4 million team option for the 2026-2027 season.
With this new contract, Jordan Walsh will remain in the Boston Celtics’ signature green uniform until the end of the 2029-2030 NBA season.
Jordan Walsh, who was signed in 2023, has shown significant development under the Boston Celtics’ coaching team. This 1,98 meter tall player plays as a guard and can also be a forward is known for his solid defensive abilities and versatility, allowing him to play in several different positions. These abilities and capabilities make Jordan Walsh a key asset in the team’s rotation amidst the tight competition in the Eastern Conference.

Jordan Walsh made his NBA debut on January 17, 2024. He grabbed four rebounds in the final three minutes of a 117–98 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. Born on March 3, 2004, the player scored his first NBA points on February 4 in a 131–91 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.
During his rookie season, Jordan Walsh played 27 regular-season games, all as a starter, for the Maine Celtics of the NBA G League, averaging 14,7 points and 7,5 rebounds per game.
He appeared in five G League playoff games as Maine reached the NBA G League Finals. Jordan Walsh was also a member of the 2024 NBA championship Boston Celtics. He appeared in three games during the Celtics’ playoff run. He also played three more games for Maine Boston in 2024–2025, including two postseason games.
Jordan Walsh’s role increased during the 2025–2026 NBA season, when he appeared in 68 games and started 25 of them, averaging 5,4 points and 4,0 rebounds per game.
On December 4, 2025, he scored a career-high 22 points. He shot 8-for-8 from the field. He also recorded seven rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block as the Boston Celtics secured a convincing 146–101 victory over the Washington Wizards.
