The three criminals who jammed the ATM machine at Buah Hati Hospital, Pamulang, South Tangerang, were incapacitated.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polsek of Pamulang Polres of the South Tangerang (Tangsel) , arrested three perpetrators of an ATM jamming scheme identified as AN, IRA, and MH at Buah Hati Hospital in Pamulang, South Tangerang. The perpetrators’ method was later revealed by the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto.

Kombes Pol Bhudi stated, that the three criminals jammed the ATM machine, preventing the victim’s card from being ejected. At that point, the criminals pretended to be friendly and offered assistance in order to take possession of the card.

“Therefore, we urge the public to remain vigilant when conducting transactions at ATMs. We must ensure this kind of scam is not repeated,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi to the media on Friday, July 31, 2026.

“If you encounter any suspicious activity or encounter any unusual issues, immediately report it to officers on the scene, the nearest police station, or through the 110 hotline so that action can be taken immediately,” he added.

From the scene, police secured evidence including two motorcycles, a BCA ATM card, two knives, and other items.

Meanwhile, Kapolsek of Pamulang, AKP Galuh Febri Saputra said the three criminals shared roles during their operation, from blocking the ATM machine to monitoring the surrounding area. The criminals also carried sharp weapons.

“One acted as a barrier inside the outlet. Another offered assistance to residents withdrawing money. Another was on duty at the front,” said AKP Galuh.

Three Criminals Incapacitated

A video of the arrest of these criminals went viral on social media. In the circulating video, the criminals are seen being chased by residents after their failed attempt. Residents even kicked the perpetrators until they fell.

In another video, the perpetrators are seen tied up after being apprehended. They were then detained by police. The perpetrators were also shot by police for trying to resist arrest.

“During the arrest, the criminals resisted and tried to escape, so we took firm, measured action,” stated AKP Galuh.
