progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Efforts by the House of Representatives (DPR RI)—specifically through Commission VI—to oversee the resolution of PT Pos Indonesia employee entitlements have yielded positive results. PT Pos Indonesia received a payment of Rp158 billion from the Ministry of Social Affairs on Saturday, August 29, 2026. This payment secures the entitlements of approximately 59.000 active workers and retirees.

PT Pos Indonesia President Director Iskandar Kunaefi expressed his appreciation to the House of Representatives.

“Alhamdulillah, the payment from the Ministry of Social Affairs has been received by PT Pos today,” he said on Saturday, August 29, 2026.

He also extended his gratitude to House Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, House Commission VI Chairwoman Anggia Ermarini, and House Commission VI Deputy Chairman Andre Rosiade for overseeing the resolution of the issue.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the PT Pos Indonesia Workers’ Union, Iwan Suryanegara, echoed these sentiments.

“On behalf of all workers and the management of PT Pos Indonesia, we thank Mr. Sufmi Dasco for championing the workers’ cause, ensuring they receive their entitlements and that their jobs remain secure,” he said.

Iwan also thanked the leadership of House Commission VI, the Minister of Finance, and Danantara for assisting in the resolution process.

The issue arose after the House of Representatives received input from PT Pos Indonesia representatives and the workers’ union during a dialogue held in the House leadership meeting room at the Nusantara III Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

At that time, workers voiced concerns regarding the security of their entitlements and the company’s future amidst financial pressures.

Recognizing the urgency of the matter—given that it affected approximately 31.000 active employees and 28.000 retirees—the House treated the issue as a priority. House Commission VI subsequently pushed for the expedited disbursement of the Rp158 billion owed to PT Pos Indonesia by the Ministry of Social Affairs, based on audit findings. 

Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI Sufmi Dasco Ahmad emphasized that the funds represent a debt repayment rather than a bailout; therefore, the disbursement process should not be unnecessarily prolonged. The House remains committed to overseeing coordination with relevant ministries and agencies until the payment is finalized.

Through Commission VI, the House will also continue to exercise its oversight function regarding the financial recovery of PT Pos Indonesia, the settlement of outstanding obligations, and the protection of workers’ rights.

“Resolving the issues facing PT Pos cannot simply end with the disbursement of funds. The House will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that similar problems do not compromise workers’ rights in the future,” asserted Sufmi Dasco. (Bembo)
