Polres Majalengka Traffic Unit Fosters Awareness of Road Safety and Order Through “Traffic Police Outreach” and “Police as Children’s Friends” Programs

The Traffic Unit of the Polres Majalengka fosters awareness regarding traffic safety and order among students at IT Madania through the “Police Greet” (Polantas Menyapa) and “Police for Children” (Polsanak) initiatives.

progresifjaya.co.id, MAJALENGKA – Fostering awareness regarding road safety and order cannot be achieved through sporadic efforts, rather, it must be cultivated gradually and consistently from an early age.

With this in mind, the Traffic Safety and Security Unit (Kamsel) of the Polres Majalengka has launched meaningful public traffic education initiatives through two key programs: “Traffic Police Outreach” (Polantas Menyapa) and “Police as Children’s Friends” (Polisi Sahabat Anak—affectionately known as Polsanak).

The event took place on Friday, October 16, 2026, at the Polres Majalengka Headquarters, specifically within the Traffic Unit’s premises. Dozens of students from IT Madania, accompanied by their teachers, participated with great enthusiasm.

A warm and welcoming atmosphere was established the moment the children arrived. Traffic police personnel greeted them with friendly smiles and warm words. The environment was intentionally designed to be pleasant and non-intimidating, ensuring the students felt comfortable and confident enough to interact directly with the officers.

During the session, the officers provided education on traffic signs using methods tailored specifically for children. The material was presented in an engaging, simple, and easily understood manner—far from being rigid or dull.

The students were introduced to various types of traffic signs—including warning signs, prohibition signs, and mandatory signs—along with their respective meanings and functions. They were also encouraged to understand the importance of consistently following all traffic rules and regulations while on the road. It is not merely a matter of obligation, but an expression of care for one’s own safety and the safety of others sharing the road.

This approach incorporates simple, everyday examples, making the message easier for children to grasp and remember.

Beyond introducing traffic rules, the “Police as Friends to Children” (Polsanak) program allows students to see the police not just as law enforcers, but as friendly, caring, and approachable figures—always ready to provide protection, guidance, and sincere service to all members of society.

The initiative is designed to build children’s self-confidence, encouraging them to interact with, ask questions of, and greet police officers. This fosters a harmonious emotional bond between the Indonesian Polri and the nation’s next generation.

Kapolres Majalengka, AKBP Muhammad Aldy Sulaiman—through the Traffic Unit—noted that providing traffic education at this age is a foundational and highly strategic step toward shaping a future generation that is safety-conscious, disciplined, and responsible on the road. Instilling these habits early on serves as a valuable foundation that will remain with them into adulthood.

Through this program, students at IT Madania are expected to not only recognize various traffic signs but also understand the fundamentals of road safety. Furthermore, they are encouraged to begin practicing orderly traffic behavior in their daily lives—supported, of course, by the guidance and positive examples set by their parents and teachers.

The Traffic Unit of the Polres Majalengka also reaffirms its commitment to consistently providing educational initiatives that are human-centered, innovative, and instructive, through programs such as “Police Reach Out” (Polantas Menyapa) and “Police as Friends to Children” (Polisi Sahabat Anak). This step is taken as part of an ongoing effort to achieve better traffic security, safety, order, and flow throughout the Majalengka Regency area.

The Polres Majalengka, under the auspices of the Polda of West Java, remain committed to providing the best possible service to the public, ensuring a secure, orderly, and peaceful environment for all residents. (Bembo)
