One way to do this is by continuously implementing the “Polantas Menyapa” educational communication program. The Pangandaran Polres Traffic Unit aims to build emotional closeness with the Pangandaran community, known for its strong character and short-tempered nature.

The Registration and Identification Unit (Regident) of the Pangandaran Polres Traffic Unit plays a key role in implementing this program. In addition to directly greeting the public, Regident personnel also focus on educating the public about administrative services, including issuing SIM, STNK and BPKB. The education is delivered using a persuasive and humane approach to ensure public acceptance and understanding.

Pangandaran Polres Traffic Unit personnel are also actively involved in the field, directly greeting the public at various strategic locations such as parking areas, terminals, and traditional markets. They then engage in casual conversations about the importance of safe driving and obeying traffic signs.

Because this program is a two-way, interactive communication program, personnel are also open to listening to and addressing complaints and suggestions from the public regarding police services.

In an official statement, the Head of the Pangandaran Polres Traffic Unit, Iptu Yudi Risnandar, explained that the “Polantas Menyapa” program is a concrete manifestation of the transformation towards a Polri that is Precise, Predictive, Responsible, and Transparency with Justice. By using a humanistic and interactive communication style, all educational messages are delivered in simple, relaxed, and polite language, making it easy for the public to accept and understand, especially for the Pangandaran community, which is often characterized by its strong and easily provoked nature.

“We want to be present as traffic police officers who not only enforce the law for the people of Pangandaran, but also act as friends of the Pangandaran community on the road. We want to build a fun and solid two-way communication so that the Pangandaran community’s trust in us will continue to grow,” explained Iptu Yudi.

He also explained, that through this program, it is hoped that traffic awareness among the Pangandaran community will increase. The number of traffic violations and accidents can be reduced, thereby creating a safe, orderly, and comfortable traffic situation for all road users in Pangandaran Regency.

Finally, Iptu Yudi also stated, that the ‘Polantas Menyapa’ program is concrete evidence of the Pangandaran Polres Traffic Unit’s commitment to always providing modern, humane services that prioritize the needs of the community.

“The Polri’s passion for providing professional and integrity-based public service is our commitment to the people of Pangandaran. Although we are the youngest branch of the Polda West Java Traffic Directorate, that doesn’t mean we don’t want to be the best in West Java in terms of serving the public. That is our dream.
