Joint Patrol by the Brimob of the Polda Metro and the 3P Polres Metro of East Jakarta Successfully Thwarts Brawl, 10 Perpetrators Arrested

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – A joint patrol by the Mobile Brigade Unit (Sat Brimob) Battalion B Pelopor of the Polda Metro Jaya and the Pioneer Patrol Team (3P) of the Polres Metro of East Jakarta successfully thwarted a brawl involving teenagers on Jalan Raya Tengah, East Jakarta, early Friday morning, May 8, 2026.
Ten teenage perpetrators were also apprehended in this preemptive action. Evidence seized included sharp weapons, golf clubs, motorcycles, and cell phones.
The alleged planned brawl was thwarted thanks to a public report. Police rushed to the scene after receiving the report.
“This patrol, which prevented a brawl, is a police effort to maintain a safe and conducive public order situation, especially during critical times,” said the Head of the Sat Brimob of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Henik Maryanto, in a statement on Saturday, May 9, 2026.
“The joint team moved quickly to the location and found a group of teenagers suspected of planning to engage in a brawl. The teenagers and evidence were immediately secured to prevent a clash that could endanger local residents and road users,” he added.
He also stated, that joint patrols are routinely conducted as a preventative measure to suppress crime and juvenile delinquency in the East Jakarta area. He also stated that the presence of Brimob personnel in the field provides a sense of security and limits the freedom of movement of perpetrators of security disturbances.
The 10 teenagers involved in the brawl who were apprehended were then taken to the Polres Metro of East Jakarta for further questioning. Kombes Pol Henik also urged the public to use the police service 110 if they need assistance or witness suspicious activity in their neighborhood.
“We encourage the public to work together to protect the environment. And to report immediately if they encounter any potential security disturbances,” he advised.
