progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The name Ki Bedil, also known as TS (58), is nothing short of a ghost. This man is known to be notorious as a seller of illegal firearms among street criminals. However, no one has ever met or seen him in person.
This man from Sumedang, West Java, is also recognized for his reputation for making illegal firearms far beyond his own existence. He can make revolvers, pistols, and long-barreled firearms. The accuracy of his firearms is also unquestionable, as he previously worked in the air rifle manufacturing industry.
Ki Bedil has been running this business quietly and securely for two decades. Until he finally found out on his unlucky day. Ki Bedil, who was like a ghost because he was invisible but possessed a fierce aura, was finally arrested by the Mobile Detective Unit (Satresmob) of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Polri (Bareskrim Polri) in Rancaekek, Bandung Regency, West Java. His aura of ghostliness quickly faded after police acted on reports from the public via the “Bang Resmob” hotline.
The Head of the Satresmob Bareskrim Polri, Kombes Pol Teuku Arsya Khadafi, also acknowledged Ki Bedil’s reputation in his statement.
“He is quite well-known among street criminals and poachers. His reputation is built on the quality of his homemade weapons, which are considered precise and reliable, approaching factory standards,” said Kombes Pol Arsya on Monday, April 13, 2026.
He also stated, that as instructed by the Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency, Komjen Pol Syahardiantono, the Criminal Investigation Agency is currently developing the case by pursuing the buyers of Ki Bedil’s weapons. This decisive action is being taken to reduce the number of street crimes involving illegal firearms.
“We will investigate the perpetrators who have purchased weapons from Ki Bedil and those who have used them,” Kombes Pol Arsya emphasized again.
Ki Bedil’s Silent Illegal Firearms Business
Like a stealth lifestyle, Ki Bedil’s activities have remained virtually undetected for years. He operates in secret, only fulfilling specific orders and avoiding direct transactions.
Ki Bedil also never interacts directly with buyers. He uses an intermediary with the initials AS, who markets the weapons through social media.
The AS management system requires buyers to make an advance payment for their orders. The goods are then shipped to an agreed-upon address. Prices vary, from Rp15 million to Rp20 million, depending on the type and complexity of the product.
Following a public report to the “Bang Resmob” hotline, a team led by the Head of the Satresmob Bareskrim Polri, Kombes Pol Teuku Arsya Khadafi, quickly moved to investigate and disrupt the silence surrounding this two-decade-old business.
Then came the story of the arrest of AS, the manager of Ki Bedil, at Warung Nasi Ampera on Jalan Raya Cipacing, Sumedang Regency, West Java, on Monday, April 6, 2026, at approximately 3:45 PM WIB.
From AS, a SIG Sauer P226 pistol and magazine were confiscated, an unfinished sample of a homemade long-barreled rifle, two .22-caliber bullets, and several other items, such as a black jacket and a fishing bag.
Based on the initial investigation of AS, the team then acted intelligently and divided its personnel into two groups. The first team headed to AS’s house in Rancaekek Kulon, Bandung Regency. At this location, a large quantity of various types of ammunition, including bullets of various calibers, projectiles, and equipment such as drill bits, suspected of being used in the process of making homemade firearms, was seized.
Meanwhile, the second team went to Ki Bedil’s location, also in Rancaekek Wetan, Bandung Regency, based on information from AS. After his arrest, four rifle butts and several tools used to assemble firearms were found in his possession.
With the disappearance of Ki Bedil’s aura of insanity and his eventual capture, the Bareskrim Polri certainly hopes there will be a significant impact on reducing crime rates, particularly those involving illegal firearms.
“We hope that with the arrest of Ki Bedil, the crime rate in the community will drop significantly. And we will also continue to develop our network to uncover the wider network, including buyers and other parties involved in the distribution of illegal firearms,” said Kombes Pol Arsya firmly expressing his hope.
