Polda of South Sumatera Open DVI Post to Assist Families of Victims of Fatal ALS Bus and Tanker Truck Accident

Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) Call Center Post established by the Polda of South Sumatera to assist the families of the victims of the fatal ALS bus and tanker truck accident.
progresifjaya.co.id, PALEMBANG – The Polda of South Sumatera (Sumsel) have opened a Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) Call Center Post to assist families of victims of the fatal ALS bus and tanker truck accident in North Musi Rawas (Muratara), South Sumatra. This service is designed to facilitate public access to information related to the victim identification process.
“The Polda of South Sumatera have provided a hotline number 0821-7803-8910, which the public can contact at any time to receive the latest developments regarding victim identification,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Polda of South Sumatera, Kombes Pol Nandang Mukmin Wijaya.
For your information, the fatal ALW bus accident occurred on the Trans-Sumatra Highway in Karang Jaya Village, Muratara Regency, on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 12:00 PM Western Indonesian Time. The fatal accident involved an ALS bus with license plate number BK-7778-DL and an R6 tanker truck BG-8196-QB.
The accident occurred when the ALS bus, traveling from Lubuklinggau to Jambi, attempted to avoid a pothole. However, it is strongly suspected that the bus lost control, veered into the oncoming lane and collided with a tanker truck coming from the opposite direction.
The accident resulted in 16 fatalities, three serious injuries, and one minor injury. Sixteen body bags of the accident victims arrived at Bhayangkara Hospital in Palembang on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at approximately 5:10 a.m. Western Indonesian Time.
