Advisor to the Kapolri and Director of the Lemkapi Supports the Impact of the Traffic Corps Head’s Audience with the President Director of Jasa Marga

Expert Advisor to the Kapolri and Executive Director of the Indonesian Police Strategic Studies Institute (Lemkapi), Edi Saputra Hasibuan.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The collaboration between the Polri Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) and PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk to maintain smooth traffic flow and improve road user safety is a highly strategic step, especially when facing the surge in public mobility leading up to Christmas and New Year (Nataru).

This assessment was expressed by Edi Saputra Hasibuan, Expert Advisor to the Kapolri and Executive Director of the Indonesian Police Strategic Studies Institute (Lemkapi), in response to the audience between the Chief of Polri Traffic Corps, Irjen Pol Wibowo, and the President Director of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, Fifan A. Purwantoro.

Edi Hasibuan stated, that this meeting provides an opportunity to strengthen coordination and develop joint strategies to improve traffic services for the public.

“Synergy between law enforcement officers and toll road operators is key to realizing a safe, orderly, and smooth transportation system,” said Edi on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

He believes this collaboration will further strengthen traffic engineering management, expedite accident and congestion management, and provide a sense of security and comfort for the public.

“We warmly welcome this collaboration. This aligns with the Kapolri, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo’s directive to continuously improve synergy between the Polri and relevant institutions to provide excellent service to the public,” he explained.

This member of the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) for the 2012-2016 period also believes that if this collaboration is implemented optimally and continuously, traffic flow will automatically be maintained. Most importantly, public safety remains a priority.

“As Christmas and New Year approaches, this kind of synergy is essential to ensure safe, smooth travel and bring happiness to all road users,” he said.

Logically, traffic safety is mandated by Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Traffic and Road Transportation, which mandates the state, along with all stakeholders, to ensure the security, safety, order, and smooth flow of traffic. Meanwhile, the Polri, through its traffic function, also has the authority to regulate, guard, escort, patrol, and even manage traffic to protect the public.

Edi hopes, that in the future, this collaboration can be realized through more concrete steps such as real-time traffic data exchange, strengthening information systems for road users, accelerating emergency response, and regular evaluations of congestion and accident-prone areas.

“We believe this synergy will have a positive impact on both institutions. It will also provide increasingly professional public services. The public has the right to safe, comfortable, and secure travel. That is the main measure of the success of this collaboration,” he concluded.
