Saeful, the perpetrator behind the dismemberment of the legless body in the Pancoran Mas area, Depok.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The case involving the murder and mutilation of Kunaefi (51)—whose body was discovered inside a sack in Pancoran Mas, Depok City—is becoming increasingly clear. Investigators from the Mobile Detective Unit (Resmob) of the Polda Metro Jaya revealed that the perpetrator, Saepul (26), had actually met the victim via social media prior to their in-person meeting and the subsequent bloody incident.

Polda Metro Jaya Head of Public Relations, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto stated, that preliminary investigations indicate the relationship between the victim and the perpetrator began with an online introduction.

“Investigation results reveal that Saepul (S) and the victim got to know each other through social media,” Kombes Pol Bhudi explained to the media on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

After establishing contact, the two agreed to meet at a rented house in the Cipayung area of ​​Depok City on July 23, 2026.

However, the meeting escalated into an argument. According to investigators, the dispute culminated in murder.

“The meeting turned into an altercation, during which the perpetrator stabbed the victim in the abdomen and slit his throat with a knife,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi.

The case came to light after residents discovered the contents of a sack in the Pancoran Mas area that had initially been mistaken for trash. The sack had actually been at the location since Friday, July 24, 2026, but had aroused no suspicion and was left undisturbed.

It was not until Tuesday, August 4, 2026, that a resident took the initiative to burn the sack. As the material began to melt from the flames, the resident was shocked to discover a human body inside.

Preliminary examination revealed that the victim was found unclothed. Police also discovered a slash wound on the neck; the victim’s hands were bound, and both legs were missing due to mutilation.  Investigators are currently delving into the motive for the murder, as well as the full sequence of events leading up to the suspect allegedly dismembering the victim’s body—which was missing its legs—and dumping the remains on a vacant lot in the Pancoran Mas area.
