Fully armed Brimob of the Polda Metro Jaya are on guard to apprehend hundreds of foreign nationals linked to online gambling (judol) at offices in the Hayam Wuruk area, West Jakarta.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – A deadly duo from the Polri’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) and the Polda Metro Jaya raided hundreds of foreign nationals (WNA) in offices in the Hayam Wuruk area, West Jakarta, for alleged online gambling (judol) activities. Several pieces of evidence, including computers, laptops, safes, and the judol website itself, were confiscated.

The hundreds of WNA who were raided were secured in a room, seated facing each other at two tables arranged in a row, with computer monitors on their desks. Several Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officers from the Polda Metro Jaya were seen guarding the location.

These hundreds of foreign nationals came from Thailand, Vietnam, China, Myanmar, Korea, and Malaysia. They are suspected of operating an international cybercrime network operating a judol website in the office.

The raid also involved Brimob personnel from the Polda Metro Jaya, who had been deployed since late Friday evening, May 8, 2026. Dozens of Brimob members lined up in front of the building, standing guard, facing the entrance of the glass-fronted building.

Two personnel equipped with tactical gear, including helmets, bulletproof vests, masks, and long-barreled weapons, were seen standing guard at the entrance. There were also black-clad building security officers on standby at the location.

This multi-layered security is strongly suspected to be related to law enforcement measures in a major case currently being handled by the police.

The Head of Public Relations for the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto stated in a statement, that the presence of fully armed Brimob personnel at the location of the raid was intended to anticipate potential security disturbances, given that the raid was a large-scale operation targeting a transnational syndicate network.

 “Yes, personnel from the Brimob of the Polda Metro Jaya were deployed to the location to provide security support. This was done to ensure the smooth operation of our investigators in the field in collecting evidence and apprehending the suspected perpetrators,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi on Saturday, May 9, 2026.

He also stated, that the Polri, particularly the Polda Metro Jaya, are firmly committed to eradicating all forms of gambling practices that disturb the public.

“We also urge residents to remain vigilant against the dangers of online gambling, which can damage the economy and social fabric. Immediately report any suspicious activity in your neighborhood to the authorities by dialing 110 to ensure a safe and orderly public order situation,” he emphasized.
