Polda Metro Jaya’s Robbery Hunter Team Arrests 8 Robbers and Still Hunting 5 More

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polda Metro Jaya’s Robbery Hunter Team has arrested eight robbers, some of whom targeted foreign nationals. Police are currently hunting for five other perpetrators.

Polda Metro Jaya’s Director of Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimum), Kombes Pol Iman Imanuddin explained, that the five fugitives are linked to the previously arrested perpetrators. One of the fugitives was known to have been carrying a firearm.

“The five of their accomplices are still at large. We are still pursuing one of them from the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout. The other person who used a firearm is also still at large,” said Kombes Pol Iman on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

During the arrest of the eight robbers, Kombes Pol Iman continued, decisive action was taken, including a bullet that punctured the perpetrator’s leg.  This effort was necessary because some of the muggers tried to resist and flee.

“Some of them resisted and fled, so we took firm and measured action. We took firm and measured action to protect the safety of the people of Jakarta. However, we remain steadfast in upholding their human rights,” explained Kombes Pol Iman.

As is known, the Polda Metro Jaya previously announced that four foreign nationals (WNA) were victims of muggings in Jakarta.
The four citizens were from Malaysia, Germany, China, and Italy.

“We are currently compiling all crime scenes involving the mugging suspects. The perpetrators are from several groups. Four of the victims are foreign nationals,” he added.
